Do codec and bitrate affect camera's *internal* motion detection?

Curious if any of a camera's codec and bitrate settings affect its ability to detect motion and send corresponding events to an NVR?

I use a varierty of different brand cameras and connect them to my Synology Surveillance Station. Since my Surveillance Station doesn't have any AI or human/vehicle detection, I rely on the cameras for that functionality.

Just curious if any of the settings in the camera (other than the event settings) will affect the camera's ability to detect and send those events?

Thanks.

Can’t say I’ve actually tested for that, (IVS is much much better than plain old MD btw)

But I’d think low bitrates could indeed affect detection simply because of the poor image quality
