Well, it did for me, on two cameras that were completely different models (Amcrest ASH21-W and IP5M-T1179EW-AI-V3). Let me guess, you've deleted and re-added the camera in BI, checked the settings by logging into the camera itself or downloading the manufacturers terrible app just to find that everything looks normal and audio is working there. Let me tell you, I've been trying to figure out this problem for months and no amount of searching was helping so I'm writing this post. After troubleshooting this issue, both cameras had the audio feed set in the Network IP Configuration to 64 kbps G.711 a-law which worked for me for a long time. I even tried changing it to 64 kbps G.711 u-law based on some posts I had seen but that didn't work either. Naturally I tried switching to RTSP thinking that might work but it didn't. It wasn't until I switched to RTSP alternate AAC Decoder that I was able to get an audio feed finally. What led me to this change, beyond just trial and error, was the fact that I looked up the camera's audio output codec and it was AAC. Since RTSP alternate AAC Decoder was the only option in the list that mentioned AAC, I tried it and it worked!
