Desiccant test#3

Ok I finally FAFO'ed my way into camera reconditioning 101 with moisture issues. ( IPC-HFW5231E-Z12)
I taped the access door with Alum Duct tape, even though the seal appears fine.
I did notice something i missed earlier. There is a small "tab" on the frt. rubber gasket, which corresponds to a tiny cut out on the camera body. Which means it only fits one way. I assembled it before without seeing it. So who knows if I had it together right last time.
I "3 bag"ged it with Desiccant bags, 1 in back and two near the lens. This is all the cord i have outside at the moment.
So I've got it aimed at the street so it wasn't so boring to watch the camera.
luckily somebody parked there and I screwed around and zoomed in and was totally surprised to see his plate in color.
We recently added a big ass "Light of the Sun" glowing in the back yard.
Zoom says it's at position 865 on the slider bar.
I quickly fixed the "stargazing" shutter speed to 1/100 and opened the Iris about 95%,
before he moved. Don't think i can capture a moving plate in this scenario, but mostly it's just out there in the weather
where the sun will bake it and thaw out the moisture and then we'll see how it goes for 24-48 hours.

Zoomed out to 818 and hit auto-focus and still get the plate on a high angle. These z-12's are so awesome.

I still have one from 1972.....love that thing. Hard to believe it's 53 43 years old.

I hear ya. I got divorced in '04 after 31 years of marriage. The single best thing I got to keep and bring with me was a circa mid 80's Black & Decker Workmate, all metal, thick 1" high density composite table-top, built like tank. I have clamped all kinds of projects to it, it's been my second pair of hands countless times. It may be the reason why I still have both hands , 8 fingers and 2 thumbs!

I bought one for the condo job around 2017-18. then I needed another to use for a quick setup/ takedown work table for the scrap $25 table top from menards.
these are by no means as well built as the 1972 model depicted.

Well 3 days in and some good temp swings and bookoo sunshine and 2 snow events and its still fog free.
