I have several IP cameras set up at two locations. Whenever there is a strong storm or if I lose electricity my camera numbers change so I cannot get them to come back on unless I reset the port to the new IP address. This always seems to happen at the location where I am not so resetting the camera is impossible. Would using a 3rd party DDNS service alleviate this problem? Can someone tell me what is a good one to use and would I need two accounts one for each location. Since I view all my cameras using Blue Iris will it work with that software?
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
 
It is strongly recommend to use a DDNS service for remote access to cameras over the internet.
I am lazy. So I use ASUS router, ASUS provides a DDNS service from the router.
Also make sure that your cameras have static IP address on the local network.
I have a UPS on all my equipment(POE switches, router,Modem, computers) this cuts down on some of the power fail problems.
