Here is a quick comparison video I made of the IPC-Color4M-T and IPC-T54PRO-ZE.
SETUP:
Both cameras were set up as close as possible with the same focal length and placement. To match the 3.6mm of the Color 4M-T, I set the zoom of the T54PRO-ZE to “173.” The distance of the cameras’ target was 15’5”. The accompanying video is focused only on night captures, since that is what everyone seemed to be interested in seeing. Note, I did include a screen capture from my NVR of the daytime image from consecutive days at the same time for each camera. As you can see, the Color4M-T looks better.
THE VIDEO:
As requested by Bigredfish, I made video clips of three comparison scenes:
1. B&W with illumination by the cameras’ IR
2. Color with the porch lights turned “on”
3. Color with the porch light “off” but LEDs of the cameras turned “on”
Also, as a final clip, I switched on Smart Illumination and walked out to the porch to see how long the IR would take to switch over to the warm LEDs.
For the test, I walked into camera view, and then in the next clip I ran to show if ghosting was a problem with the shutter setting 0-8.33.
In Summary, the T54PRO-ZE is nice, but I am going to swap the Color4M-T back tomorrow to monitor the front door. It was the clear winner in the test for both day and night. I could tweak the settings for the IPC-T54PRO-ZE to eliminate the noise and help with illumination, but I wanted this test to focus on both cameras with the same settings.
