Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Meta sample from camera and NVR - note the description of data on top within NVR.
File was too big I guess to repost direct - needed YT

A screen capture from the NVR playback not downloaded footage. Not fine tuned - everthing default except H264H 8192 bitrate AI set up, llumination Overexposure Remover - general

So on video 1- you're able to run both IVS AND VMD simultaneously?

On Video 2- are the light variations from Smart Illumination? No external white lights just the camera LEDs?

Thats an AS so fixed. 3.6mm?

1. Yes IVS and Video Meta Data are both on at the same time - by default when IVS is enabled

2. The 1st half is IR in manual then smart ILL. when it switched to color - just the cameras LED's

T54IR is a sensitive color camera which can work at night in color mode - and comparison is highly recommended - with the same external white street lighting (no onboard white light usage on white light models)...

Especially that T54IR is a benchmark on this forum...

Everyone knows this model and know what is performance at night...

5x59-IL (Smart Dual Light) is a replacement for T54IR in Dahua portfolio...

After reading your notes on the specs, and then going and looking at them myself, like you I find it odd...

From pure spec, I see no reason to buy the IL vs the PRO? IL simply loses a few features, speaker, IVS for dummies, but has much worse FStops

The Pro I fear will be much like the 3449 pro in that it will pickup light better, but with the digital noise as a tradeoff.
The IL with the much worse Fstops, equal to (replacement for) the old 5442-S3 is likely to have the better IQ but at the expense of not being as light sensitive.

Seems we're back where we started? 5442S3 vs 3449 Pro?

IF the noise is still present on the PRO and my guess is right that the IL has the image quality of the current 5442-S3, but ALSO has the white LED's and Smart Illumination, I might be tempted to stay with it and not mess with the PRO. I mean there's very little feature difference....

Seems it will come down to image quality, unless Dahua puts a crazy price premium on the PRO

I also notice they dropped AFSA from the 3449 PRO?
I'm still not clear on what it does but I DO know it helps reduce the digital noise at night on the 3449 Pro

Anyone know what is the difference between these two bullets?

Thanks for sharing the videos @jmcu ... super-cool of you to share what you are seeing ... as I know it takes a bit of effort to package it all up - ditto @EMPIRETECANDY for your commentary.

We are all waiting for the "Money Shot" (do NOT look that up in the slang dictionary! ;-) which as I said earlier "Would love to see a side-by-side comparison of the all three camera at night, NO illumination (and full color (i.e. not IR), using similar params - I.e. lets see what the difference is in lens/sensors" (hopefully obvious that no illumination means no on-board lighting)

@steve1225 echo'd with "any comparison pictures to 54IR / Color4K / TIOC-PRO at the same location / direction / shutter speed & camera parameters? ... T54IR is a sensitive color camera which can work at night in color mode - and comparison is highly recommended - with the same external white street lighting (no onboard white light usage on white light models)...
