I lost the turret set screw for one of my Dahua 5442 cameras. I found a screw that works but it is big and ugly. Is there anywhere to get these screws?

Ebay

Pretty sure it is M5 but double check

Hi,

I need a set screw for one of my Dahua 5442 cameras, too. Did you find one? If so, is the size M5 and what length worked? I'm also using a small bolt that I cut and tapered the end as a temporary solution.

For small "oddball" things like set screws and short lengths I find local mom and pop hardware stores often have more of what you need vs a big box. Amazon and eBay will always work as well, but there are times I need a screw today, so I try to know where to locally find uncommon fasteners. Just as important, is knowing when they close, cause a lot of those stores don't have evening hours.

Well, just confirmed that the thread IS #10-32. I have a bunch of equipment rack screws (which are #10 - 32 threads per inch) from my audio/video tech days and the thread fits the screw hole perfectly. So, a #10 - 32 set/grub screw with a length of 3/8" (or 10mm) is what is needed. Don't forget to get the cone point end, it matters

Key Differences & Similarities
Diameter: M5 is slightly larger than 10-32
Thread Pitch: 10-32 has 32 threads per inch (0.794mm pitch), while M5-0.8 has a 0.8mm pitch. They are very close—nearly identical—but not identical.
Interchangeability: A 10-32 screw will often fit loosely into an M5 hole. An M5 screw will usually be too tight and likely won't fit into a 10-32 hole.

Dahua is most likely using a metric screw M5-0.8 since The United States, Liberia, and Myanmar are the only countries that still officially use the imperial system (or U.S. customary units).
