I have a 5-year-old Dahua camera that I originally bought from Empire Andy, and recently it started acting strange in Blue Iris. When I logged into the camera web UI, I noticed Smart Codec was turned ON, which I definitely do not want enabled.
I tried turning Smart Codec OFF and the camera rebooted like normal, but after reboot the setting was still ON. I then tried changing other settings one at a time, including resolution and other video settings. Every time, the camera acts like it saves the changes and reboots successfully, but none of the settings actually stick. It always comes back with the old incorrect settings.
At this point I cannot get the camera to save ANY settings through the web interface. I’ve already tried multiple browsers including IE, Safari, and Chrome with the same result.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this a firmware corruption issue, failing flash memory, or something else? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
