Hi there,

I have a strange display issue with my NVR Web UI.
It's a DHI-NVR4208-8P-EI, but I don't think it's related to that specific model.

I'm using a wide 4k Display (3840 x 1600) and usually have the browser on one half of my screen to have some other program on the other side.
When I do this wis the NVR Web UI, all the Icons and fonts are way too big, see attached screenshot.

A mediocre workaround is using the whole screen, then at least the big fonts match the space where they should be, but still, everything is way bigger than it should be and some elements are still not properly placed.

I already searched the web but found nothing about it.

Anyone of you having the same issues and a possible fix?

Another thing annoying me is the frequent popup regarding the web-plugin.
What I could find in the web is, that it shouldn't be required for Chrome based browsers, I'm using Edge or Chrome.
So why does it still pop up? How to get rid of it?
Some buttons seem to not work properly, as the pop up shows everytime I click on them.

Thanks!

4K resolution is actually 3840 x 2160 and is a 16:9 aspect ratio so that's off....UltraHD / 4K is 4 times the res of 1920 x 1080.
What other settings do you have in the NVR that comes up as 16:9 ratio (16/9 = 1.7777) when you do the division?
Worst case try HD (1920 x 1080p) to at least see how it looks.

Regarding the NVR Web UI, it seems the NVR is expecting Internet Explorer, not a Chromium-based browser. IE is baked into W in 10 and 11, it's just hiding. Either try 32 bit Palemoon browser or see how to enable IE in Win 10 or 11.

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:

Open Notepad
Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
Save as OpenIE.vbs
Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer.

Same issue with palemoon, the message keeps popping up.

And yes, that's why I wrote "wide 4K"... it's also called UW4K, WQHD+ or UWQHD+.
In the NVR config there is no option for WebUi resolution, you can only change the resolution for the display output, but that is not what I am using.
I am purely connecting via webbrowser. But this UI somehow uses the horizontal screenresolution and scales it's elements accordingly without any possibility to change it.
Quite awkward in 2025, especially because the WebUi of the Dahua cameras is working perfectly fine with my screen.

Yes, I can change monitor resultion do FHD, but that's also just a very clumsy workaround.

I was hoping that it's a known issue and someone found a way to fix it.

Just found a better workaround.

With the MS Edge DevTools, you can use device emulation to simulate another screensize, eg. mobiles.
With this emulation the scaling is manageable.

But the plugin popup remains.
