Can’t believe I’m having to post this, but after having building works done for several months last year, I’m now reinstalling a couple of these cameras.
However, I can’t seem to separate the base from the main unit to access the mounting holes to fix to the junction box.
As it’s now discontinued, no manual on dahua site that shows how. I’ve removed the grub screw. The only other screws I can see are the back of the lense unit. I’ve tried push/twist but nothing is working.

Any help will be appreciated as hoping to get these up this weekend…

Failing that, has there been any decent improvements in the last 9 years or are these still okay for domestic needs?

I'd say the 2 parts of the mount are stuck together and need to be coaxed. The grub screw is the only fastener that holds the 2 pieces together.

Yeah they do bind up. I had some of that style in 5442 and T3241T-ZAS after a year outside the channel the grub screw sits in would be metal on metal after the paint was rubbed away.
