Can the cameras in BI6 not be arranged the same way as in BI5?

Hello all,

I am currently using BI 5 and am quite satisfied. I am mainly using it to see all camera streams not necessarily to record. I therefore arranged all my cameras in a convenient way, with one camera the main cam and it is dynamically adjusted if I drag a different camera onto the spot.

I tested BI6 and imported the exported cameras from BI5. But I was not able to set the same arrangement as I had in BI5. I only managed to arrange with large black areas in between.
Is it not possible to arrange one main camera and several others on the side neatly?

In BI 6's built-in "Help" (the big ? at upper left), have you consulted "Cameras" => "Screen Layout and Frames" ?

Most or all of Blue Iris 6's layout differences were done in Blue Iris 5, so I'm guessing you were running quite an old version of BI 5.

You're probably referring to the old "1-up", "4-up", etc options. Those are still available, but you need to click the "edit layout" button

Then right click a camera and choose the Quick layout submenu.

I'm not sure if they work exactly like they did before, but they are still there and they work for me.

Anyway if you hate the black space between cameras, you can reduce that by right clicking each camera and in the "Aspect" submenu you can make it scale to fit. Do note this changes the camera view to a non-native aspect ratio so stuff may be getting squished in one direction or another. It is a tradeoff I refuse to make. I'd rather have the black space than to mess with the aspect ratio that way.
