Greetings,

I've spent hours with the assistance of ChatGPT and we couldn't get Ubuntu 24.04 with 7 Dahua IP cams to display anything but low res. What am I missing?

Thanks

I also purchased a $15 license expected to get HD but they don't specify if it's 720 or FHD @ 1080

What is(are) the camera model(s)?
What is the RTSP URL being utilized with the cameras?

Agent DVR discovered the URL’s automatically via ONVIF.

rtsp:/<username>:<password>@192.168.1.12:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&unicast=true&proto=Onvif

Dahua Camera models are:
SD40225T-HN
SD1A203T-GN-W
SD22204T-GN
IP4M-1028
IPC-HDW4231EMP-ASE
IP3M-941

Since the subtype is "0" (zero) then it should be displayed as the main stream as long as the camera's main stream has been set up in its webGUI to at least 1080p then that's what you should get. The sub stream URL would be "subtype=1."

What does VLC do with that URL? If it shows 1080 then the issue is with Agent DVR and they mean HD is 720p, not 1080p.

Hi, Not sure if this is your issue or not but I ran across this setting on my cameras regarding the high resolution view in Agent DVR. I have most of my cameras on the low resolution view in the grid view except for one with I have on the high resolution view. Then when you click on any of the grid views it brings up the high resolution 4K (or whatever) view full screen.

That's funny. I started with Blue Iris and abandoned it for Agent DVR. Blue Iris was way too processor intensive even after "tuning it" and tweaking settings. Agent DVR does everything I need with a CPU utilization maxing around 26% with 16 cameras, 2 of them doing AI ALPR. Looking forward to hearing about your setup and Blue Iris.
