I'm going on vacation soon and will be taking the dogs with us for once! I am just looking for a way to bring a camera to a airbnb house to watch the dogs when we go out. I usually just put them in a bed room and close the door for a hour or two it would be nice to stick a camera in there while we are out just to keep a eye on them.

The house will have WiFi and i have a GL.iNet travel router that i use to connect to there wifi then VPN home to pull my media, they work great!

I guess a cheap tp-link tapo would work for this? Obviously i will not have access to the airbnbs router so that is where the travel router comes in.

Just looking for ideas that don't need a subscription, as it's only needed for a week.

Yes, I'd go with a Tapo, look at all to select the one that meets your needs, they even have one with a magnetic base but you could stick a magnet on the one the base of the one I have 2 of the C-110's as pet cams. They are small and lightweight, come with a 9VDC wall wart for power, have 2 way audio. There's a white or a black. For under $20 you can't go wrong. Mine's been in service for over 2 years, streaming RTSP to Blue Iris but you can use their app.

There's no subscription to view live via their P2P (cloud), only if you want to record to their cloud. It'll tale take a microSD card to record which draws no fee as well.

If you feel premium, go with UniFi UTR, UNVR, and G6 Instant combo
