Latest BI Update 6.0.1.29 says "new YouTube RTMP streamer".

I've been using the"old one" in 5.9.9.73 for a time now. Does anyone know what's new, improved or necessary about it?

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me what the "RTMP Streamer" IS, or can do? This is something I am just not familiar with and would like to learn more.

I wish he would push the next stable update to something other than 6.0.0.1 so I can at least start playing with built-in AI. I emailed him today and he said that is still the stable version.

Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) is the protocol that one must use to livestream to YouTube (among others).

You can push video from Blue Iris to YouTube, per this instructional video.

I haven't used this feature, as I've been using ffmpeg running on a mac Mini. But this feature's been around for awhile, and Ken's release notes say:

Fixed
• RTMP streaming code to YouTube and other servers has been rewritten to use
modern methods and libraries

So it's not new, but it's allegedly improved.
