Hello all, Happy New Year!

I know this is a long shot, but... I purchased the above camera to use with my old BI4 installation not knowing how the whole TandemVu deal would implement. Obviously, the model is not listed under the Hikvision camera type setting, but I was able to add it using one of the other available older models. The PTZ part of the cam does function as intended but I'm not able to add the other "Turret" style cam.

Based on threads I've found on this site, you're supposed to copy the cam, add it again and separate the two by Cam#1 and Cam#2 in the video connection tab. Unless I'm missing something, as far as I can tell, that's not possible in BI4. Just wondering if any olde schoolers out there have figured this out. I've been eyeing upgrading for a long, long time but, it's been one of those "If it ain't broke" type of things.

Thanks!

I never used BI 4 only V 5/6, so I can not comment on the issue you are having with that camera; but it sounds to me like it might be broke!

Thanks for your reply, can you confirm on your BI6 installation that there is an option to set a Cam1 and Cam2 for a single network cam IP?

After searching the forum, I haven't been able to find anyone who has upgraded from BI4 to BI6. I'm wondering what the best way to upgrade would be. I'm guessing uninstall the old, re-install the new, and reconfigure my cams. I'm just worried that some of the old registry stuff might remain and cause some issues. Maybe I should start a new thread with those questions if no one comments here.

Thanks again

I have no idea about BI 4, certainly going 5 to 6 it is best to not uninstall 5 before going to 6, I guess it would depend on where BI 4 is installed on the hard drive and where BI 4 stores it settings in the registry, as you say I have not heard of anyone yet going from 4 to 6, I would suggest starting a new thread that has the correct title!

Well, this old dog ain't broke just yet lol... For anyone looking to add a Hikvision TandemVu to BI4, here ya go.

Add the new cam, add another instance of the cam copying the first, add the following to the cam video path in the configuration.

rtsp:/user:[email protected]:554/H265/ch2/av_stream

rtsp:/user:[email protected]:554/H265/ch1/sub/av_stream - add /sub/ for sub stream or adjust channel.

Replace USER/PASS/IP or H265 with H264 if needed.

Enjoy!
