If anyone is experienced and up to date with Hikvision, I could use some help please. They have SO MANY NVRs to choose from. Could anyone like list their top 5 or 6 NVRs from Hikvision that support 16 channels? Am I correct to assume, if they don't have a USB 3.0 port on the back, they are older style boxes (and perhaps less powerful hardware)? Do any of the 16CH boxes do beyond 160MBps on both sides? With all the lettering/number schemes they use in their model names, you don't know if you are getting something recent or newer. I tried to find a RELEASE DATE page of all their NVRs, to no avail.

It also seems lots of their NVRs have limitations on how many cameras can do line crossing. I think I seen one that could only do 2........

I recently got a DS-7616NXI-K2/16P and was disappointed with the speed of the unit. It's also slow to IP login locally. It has pausing moments on occasion. The APP loads the cameras slow with this percentage thing.

I installed a NVR516P16-K2 from Linovision (just a rebadged HikVision NVR of some sort). I did this install because the previous installer left 9 months ago, so they called me to install it. This box is much faster than the one I listed above, but it could still be faster in my opinion.

I thought about these 2 NVRs, but...

Hikvision M Series DS-7716NI-M4/16P or Hikvision M Series DS-7616NI-M2/16P.... but am not sure until I get some details from those experienced. I don't know which series of these 2 is newer, but I would assume 77xx over 76xx? I probably chose wrong with these 2, perhaps better units than these?

I am use to Dahua and will stick with them, but I got into a huge quantity of generic Hikvision cameras that I need to dispense of. I will use these systems for people who only desire a simple installation or on a budget.

I sure could appreciate some help.

I'm interested in this too! I need a 16-channel Hikvision NVR that can handle, at least, eight 8MP Gen 2 Hikvision cameras. Models, such as the DS-7616NXI-I2/16P/S cannot apply "AI by NVR" to 8MP camera video...

I'd be grateful for any guidance. Thanks!

I just upgraded my to DS-7616NXI-I2/S (E) and I don't see problem apply AI by NVR to 1 8MP. You can only use Face Capture Engine for 1 Face Capture camera 8MP and up to I think 8 for Face Comparisons. Face Comparisions is that your camera do the process with Face Capture and compare the NVR pictures database. Your cameras have to have Acusense feature on the G2 Acusense version to use the feature on the NVR, not all the feature will use by NVR. Like Acusearch will use 1 engine on the NVR and only able search all the camera by turn on Acusense, When you turn on Acusense you can't use Face Capture. Remember you can only use 1 engine at a time on low level camera and NVR, only when you get to high end model that you can use 2 engines at the same time. If you only need record and view the best resolution, get M series, if you want some AI get NX series. The NXI-M series is not cheap. Some AI on the NVR will need camera use at the same time to use them. The small NVR processor use so little power can't process coming video streams and compare multiple processes at the same time.
