I’m looking for recommendations for 2 turret cameras (≤ €400 each) with these requirements:
I build my network with Unifi devices. So it was obvious to use the Access and Protect hardware too. My experience so far is disappointing. It explains, why I see supposed basic functions as special features and hope to be able to educate better results with Dahua.
But that should not be part of my post.
Any specific Dahua models you’d suggest that reliably meet those requirements? Thanks!

- Local recording to NVR (8 TB drive available)
- Locations: front yard and garage driveway
- PoE +/++ — wiring is ready
- Floodlight that activates on motion within a defined area or, preferably, on perimeter/line crossing AND for Night Vision
- Will add PTZ later if I like what I got
- Reliable smart features (person/vehicle detection) desired — not gimmicks
- Vari-focal lens would be good to remain flexible for installation
- There is some existing light (not completely pitch dark at night)
