AI Good and Bad

I just found out that adding punctuations in chat with AI increases the token count by 1 each. But typos increase the token count by 3. Now add millions of users it all adds up in utilizing resources.

AI Data Centers .. get big tax breaks, will hire few people for long term jobs, construction workers do get good jobs for a short period of time, AI data centers may actually cost more for the local state to support if power costs for the locals go up and revenue from the Data Centers are limited ..

No wonder the locals want to put a stop to the data center build out

Big Money for Big Consulting reports .. made by AI and not fully reviewed by the interns ..

We really should have figured out that AI is in part, farce, when the 54PRO came out ….

Anthropic and OpenAI plan to kill open source AI :

A wrongful death trial just exposed the whole AI sh*tshow

This video discusses a legal case where an expert witness used ChatGPT to write a report defending 3M in a lawsuit related to a fatal gas explosion at Watson Grinding (0:00 - 0:25). The expert was hired to determine liability, but instead of conducting a proper investigation, he prompted the AI to write a report exonerating the company, leading to significant legal consequences (0:26 - 2:06).

Key takeaways from the incident:

  • Reliance on AI: The expert failed to review the 30-page AI-generated report, even asking the AI to rate its own work, which it self-scored as a 97 (2:21 - 2:53).
  • Courtroom revelation: During the trial, it was discovered that the expert's ChatGPT history included irrelevant tasks, such as creating t-shirt designs and asking the AI to interpret photos of the gas detector, effectively showing he had stopped performing his professional duties independently (4:16 - 5:43).
  • Outcome: The jury ultimately awarded $61 million in damages and placed 30% of the responsibility on 3M, rejecting the expert's attempt to argue for 0% fault (5:44 - 5:53).
The creator uses this story to highlight a broader critique of how over-reliance on AI is causing people to lose critical thinking and professional skills (5:54 - 6:36).

A fake story about Chinese bots negatively influencing the data center controversy which is posted by a known paid right wing “influencer” trying to influence people into believing data centers are good and are just getting bad PR because if Chinese influence.

Priceless
