Can someone explain me what exactly the 3 options mean in the AI Alert confirmation settings, specifically the motion required options:

There are 3 options:
  • No
  • Motion trigger and overlap
  • Motion overlap only

I am not sure what overlap is meant here? And if Motion required is "No", how would AI then be triggered?
I want to let motion detection detect a motion and create a trigger. This trigger would then invoke the AI to confirm it.

Ok, that makes it a bit more clear. But in my case, I only trigger AI when I detect motion, so then I can set the "Motion required" option to "No" I guess.

Edit: after asking the bot it made it more clear:
In the AI Alert Confirmation settings, specifically the motion required options, "overlap" refers to the AI-detected objects physically coinciding with areas where motion has also been detected by Blue Iris's motion sensor.
....
For your goal of having motion detection detect a motion and create a trigger, which then invokes AI for confirmation, you would likely use the "Motion trigger and overlap" setting. This ensures that a motion event first occurs, and then AI analyzes that event to confirm if it contains an object of interest within the detected motion area.

The bot really works well :)
