1/1.2" 8MP Varifocal

It uses all the fancy apple silicon hardware acceleration that frigate can't access due to docker. GPU for video and stuff and the Apple AI accelerator chip to make object detection take like 1 or 2 ms. The performance is insane compared to frigate in docker, but still has all the frigate features. I sent the dev a bug report and he had it fixed within an hour. Fregata — Native NVR for Apple Silicon
wow.

this may be it.

appreciate the info...
fairly easy to set up.

i dont have a complex system, and mainly just want some ivs line crossing, etc.... also notivications to my iphone when they happen.

i looked into Frigate years ago when they had just started, but seems a bit cumbersome.

at 10 bucks, feels like i should even buy it without reading up on it.

Ill check this out more today after work....

I'm still running the free trial, but I'm loving it so far and will definitely be a buyer. Might be a bit of a learning curve if you haven't used frigate before, but if you have, it's basically identical.

yea, sure there is gonna be a learning curve... I should be able to handle it.

Is there a mac app, or do you just go to the web browser?

how well does scrubbing footage work?

I just use the browser, both on desktop and mobile. I'd assume any app that is a "viewer" for frigate would work though since the API is the same, not sure if there are any good ones.

Scrubbing works great for me, the only complaint I have (always) had with Frigate is that the quality goes way down at the top of each hour for the first few seconds while scrubbing. Something about how they generate scrubbing files hourly, but I hear that's fixed in the next version of Frigate.

(Sorry if this should be a separate thread mods!)

Frigeta trial is valid until October 31 2026 as per the website

I went ahead and bought a Ubiquiti G6 Pro turret and a IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 to test both and see which is better.

In theory the G6 with the 1/1.2" sensor should do well, ..is it really 2X the price?

Will you test in darkness and with moving humans within say 15-20ft?
