It looks like SmartSense at the end of 2025 released all 3 new image sensors with 1/1.8" - 2/4/8 Mpx.. So new 2026 and 2027 product releases can use them.. But 5459-PRO/-IL is 2025 product.. and 3449 TIOC PRO is 2024 product. So we wait for new 3/5/7 series cams using new tech..- steve1225

probably that product exists - it's 5442-IL (not -PRO) where you have AI-ISP processing disabled and in my opinion Dahua used the same sensor as in 5442-S3. But I didn't have chance to test it and prove it.. in last year I'm totally out of cctv market / tech - I went into rebuild my house which...- steve1225

it's simple.. because they couldn't release any better cam than 5442-S3 using only better sensor... there is NO better CCTV IR capable sensor available on Chinese market on this price range. the only way to go are Sony Starvis II sensors - but they are much much pricey and due anti China...- steve1225

Jesus... Stop this nonsense about sensors already. All these new WizColor 2/3/5 series cameras are built on the same sensors. yes - this should be fixable in firmware.. This is why for long time I hoped for resolution with a new firmware... But it looks like Dahua don't want "downgrade" new bright night color performance - so they will not limit that heavy use of AlwaysHDR. Or give us back manual control over it... -

is the same sensor (or new generation of the same sensor) from SmartSense as in older FULL COLOR (nor IR) cams - so old 5449 (not sold by Andy, but available in EU) or 5849-180 (Color4K-180 from Addy shop).. Or older HikVision ColorVu 2.0 (before hybrid).. not 5442/5842 - where is used... -

A few comments, about 54IR vs 54PRO vs Unifi G6/G6 PRO situation... - reddit teardown shows that Unifi G6 cams are using 1/1.8" OmniVision sensors - exactly the same as Dahua 5842.. We don't know what 1/1.2" sensor is used in G6 PRO - but there are only 2 on the market - one from OmniVision... -

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series
Names of files are wrong. Base file contains a firmware (operating system plus Dahua software). A firmware.bin file contains additional AI data (for iVS, SMD etc) and very often is the (almost) same between releases (no need to update) -

I wrote many times on this forum, that the only future / way how Dahua / HIK can upgrade is start to use Quad Bayer image sensors, created for mobile & sport cameras world... Those are 48 or 50 Mpx in little bigger sizes than we use in CCTV world (1/1.3" to 1") - single pixel is much much...- steve1225

It’s .6 not .5 firmware… we had .4 It looks like there were .5 released in march which we never received .5 have „other” AI target filter (to human/car/animal) for people who want more detection in IVS There is also high frame support for 1080p -

I know from many sources that there is big firmware upgrade in development for 54PRO.. Latest version is from 01 April. there are many new firmware subversions visible in internal Dahua firmware website, but my Polish Dahua people can't download it - it is limited by permissions for some... -

WizColor 2.0 (aka WizColor X) new features: - bigger aperture F0.8 (I don't know how this even works). Asked gemini AI for commenting that aperture. Depth of Field (DoF) will be very problematic... - bigger pixel size - but only for 2Mpx in 1/1.8" sensor... - better AI-ISP 2.0 processing...
