    If you up the frame rate to 30 with an iframe of 30, using H.264 with the max resolution it enables the option to up the bitrate to ~16Mbps. Maybe worth a try. I've also never messed with the Smooth/Clear slider so I'm not sure what exactly that does.

    I do see the difference on the water ripples you are talking about. It may because you have it zoomed in so close the difference in water rippling is apparent. I don't know if I've ever seen a water shot that zoomed in. Have you tried a different compression? H.265 vs H.264?

    What compression are you using? H.264 at a constant ~12mbps for a 4MP cam is pretty darn high. Can you post an image or video of the artifacts you are seeing?

    Adjust your color/sat levels if you need to remove some color out. I run the 3.6mm 4K-X variant for overview of my business parking lot. It’s awesome as far as light collecting ability goes but I also have it mounted 30 feet in the air so there are no soft/unfocused spots at that distance.

    So just upgraded to 5.9.9.37 and now hi res .jpeg option is gone from the alert tab. Anyone else seeing this? Will this cause pushover to only get the low quality .jpeg alert. Edit: Well just tested and still got the hi-def alert .jpeg from my main stream so I dunno.

    Get Events errors have always been solved by turning off ONVIF Authentication in the camera GUI as @wittaj suggested. I now have it turned off on all my Dahua cameras. But it's definitely odd you can't add the camera to BI now that it has been removed.

    You need to look up the specs of your NVR. If the ports don't support POE+, then it can't power your camera. You'd have to use an injector or another POE+ switch between the camera and NVR.

    Yes, all POE switch ports can be used with or without POE equipment on the other end of the link. The ports auto negotiate with the end device if power needs to be sent or not.
