Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Sorry @wittaj it has been a long day apparently! but my other comments can stand :thumb: Tweaked reply to correct my lack of concentration.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Reolink on this occasion are likely a step up from the T54Pro  (that is a partial joke as a T54Pro owner...sadly) What annoys me more than anything is that nobody takes ownership, neither the manufacturers or the resellers, sometimes there may be exceptions of course, very rarely though.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am aware, the real question is, who will Dahua listen to. End of the day they are all Dahua cameras, OEM or otherwise, sadly customer service these days is lacking on all fronts. Buyer beware as they say.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

It was a tongue in cheek comment on the one hand, deadly serious on the other :thumb: - did somebody say customer service :wow::lmao:

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I'm early :thumb: premature release, taking after the T54Pro

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

If these units do use the Omnivision sensor and perform similarly to the S3, it raises a fair question: will Dahua show the common courtesy of offering them to existing T54Pro owners as a goodwill gesture, given the costs those owners incurred while effectively testing a production prototype?

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

Genius, I will test this, never thought to ask the supercomputers!!!
  8. CamCrazy

OMG Another example of how bad some cameras are at night.

Sensor quality looks similar to the IPC-T54PRO-ZE

    BI 6.0.1.21

Amen to that, once I found a version that was 98% stable there was no way I wanted to chance an upgrade again. If you know, you know!

Didn't see that coming, nice work though. Being retired admin I know that will have hurt more than most, we are often looking for the more complex answer though, it happens.

100% for possibly spotting something that has been missed, very easily done and can cost hours of troubleshooting...ask me how I know :lmao:

Also just for confirmation, copy and paste your api command in full with password in xxxx's or something similar, second pair of eyes can often help

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

That is very odd, test first in browser, then move to Blue Iris once you get the OK result shown in browser window. Also confirm that ONVIF triggers are sending to Blue Iris, this will give some additional confirmation on login command/user etc.

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

As @wittaj suggested, it will likely be either username/password related or port error. Things like this can have you chasing your tail :thumb:

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

    Try: user:password@cameraIPaddress:4561/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.SwitchMode=0&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.DayNightColor=0

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

You can also try putting the modified port after the IP, as below: user:password@cameraIPaddress:8080/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.SwitchMode=0&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.DayNightColor=0 This assumes port number is 8080 in the example code snippet

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

Assuming you have the correct port set in Blue Iris under Video > Configure.... then yes try port 80 on cam again and report back.

Interesting, well you are using the same camera as me, Blue Iris the same and mine is working with the API call I posted above. If you paste the command straight into a browser and hit enter will it execute? Check to make sure the API call setup in Blue Iris is using http and not https as well.

Add Sunrise Sunset to Time Plan Settings

I use the following from Blue Iris on a T54IR-ZE-S3 Turret and they work fine: Sunrise user:password@cameraIPaddress/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.SwitchMode=0&VideoInOptions[].NightOptions.DayNightColor=0 Sunset...

    BI 6.0.1.21

Ok that is good to know, I do export clips now and then which works fine on 5.8.8.8 - appreciate the heads up.

    BI 6.0.1.21

I am still on 5.8.8.8 which for me was working best at the time. Are there any real world performance/stability reasons to move 5.9.9.98 at this point. With version 6 being a fresh release I will let the dust settle before jumping that far forward.

    Issues with Dahua Cameras

There is some luck no doubt, one of mine which had corrosion was totally random in how or when it would work. Had another similarly exposed without grease and it still continues to behave now! The takeaway is always use dielectric grease, nobody wants to install a camera twice, let alone a PTZ...

    Issues with Dahua Cameras

I have seen this with two of my cameras, or very similar at least. Works for weeks or even months, then dropped for days or weeks, before finally coming back again! Both cases were corroded network connectors, replaced the network tail end and all was good. As @wittaj noted above, dielectric...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

The DRAM price fixing will come and go, if history repeats itself, no way will prices stay like this long term, my opinion only of course. Even if some sub brands from Micron get swept away in the process, they will continue to supply others. Much as I like the 5442/S3 range for being solid day...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am totally onboard with your opinion and yes, it is the suppliers, DDR5 and DDR4 prices are plain stupid now, total price fixing by the three main suppliers. Disgusting, but it has happened before and will happen again, the fines are no deterrent for them. The 5442 was pretty much peak...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Regarding the price increases. I think the Ai related hardware giants will be more interested in DDR5 modules than 1GB storage used in IP Cameras :wtf: Might have been best if Dahua had just left that part out of the official price adjustment notification and stuck with tariffs. The 54Pro does...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes, just a small improvement would be nice, seems like it will be next month at the earliest now, latter part I suspect. Those two cameras look interesting, my beta testing days are over for a while now but I do hope these work out for you :thumb:

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Guessing most owners are either just living with these now or have moved them on. I still have one brand new in the box and two which are up and running, both of which will get replaced unless we have a miracle firmware fix in the next few months. They can be repurposed elsewhere I guess...
