Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Shutter below 2ms during the day (and night really!) for these to be sharp with freeze motion, I run mine below 1 during the day, yes, really!! Daytime settings below...

Yes there is really no taming these at the moment, we are reaching the same conclusion at this point. Unless tuning out this auto processing brings these back closer to the 5442, then I suspect the sensor may well be the limiting factor here. We are finding the limits and beyond of what they can...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am a camera (photography) guy, although I know there is huge development regarding phone cameras. There will never ever be a substitute for good glass and a large sensor, you cannot bend the laws of optics past a certain point. In the photography world I will take a fast aperture prime (fixed...

Interesting, hopefully it can be tuned out as much as possible. The 5459-IL series look interesting although aperture not spectacular, anything which gives better manual control without Ai processing can only be good!

This 'always on' processing needs to stop or at least have a toggle for those who don't want the 'we think we probably know what you want so tough luck' option turned on! I am seeing this on the 54Pro and wish it could just be disabled for more natural viewing. While we are on this auto...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Wow, that is a lot of work but very interesting. This agrees with my findings based on user feedback and my own experience with the 2.8 at least, sharpness is good from 5-12 or even 5-15 but then falls away from there. I mean they are still insanely good past those distances frankly but this...

It is on the limit honestly, pushing the gain will cause other issues, dropping the shutter will darken it quite a lot. Just have to try shutter below 2 or 3 and see how it plays out. Otherwise just go with IR and tune that to suit, still have to keep shutter low (fast) though.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

IR Would improve it from a motion standpoint no doubt, would be nice to keep in colour if possible though. Don't forget the iris @Chokolinho - 65+ if it is below that already.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Ok, that is not so bad, but shutter has to go lower for motion sadly, I figured it would. Below 2ms is calling sadly, then possibly push the gain but really best if you can manage not to. You are about to hit the limit if that has not already been passed :thumb:

Maybe knock sharpness to zero if it is looking to grainy. Can even try NR to nothing but still enabled, surprising how much better that can look, it might not be clean but should be better for motion. Keep the iris above 65 but maybe below 85 also if you can, will brighten it a touch.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

The scene looks good but for motion you will have to suffer less brightness...maybe, I would go: Shutter: 0-4ms at least Gain: 69 NR: below 10 Sharpness: 0 to 9 Fact is unless you can get serious light (4000 lumen+) then compromises with digital fuzzies (@bigredfish :D:thumb:) need to be made...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Seems like this could cost me more money, what is new! The 4K series are really spoiling me for low light and zero ambient light situations, I find the S3 and 5442 just solid for IR use and general coverage. The 54ProZE is overlapping with those two for me, having varifocal is still very...

Woeful lack of video from me, but here are some stills from various cameras looking at the same vehicle, identical time of day just simply different angles. Useful to compare with the 54ProZE (1028 firmware), overcast conditions, all 100%, no editing, vehicle moving around 32-35mph : 54ProZE...

Very much so, a stark reminder highlighted by the PTZ, there is no substitute for the correct focal length, regardless of megapixels. On another note it appears that @tmxv4128 has a very nice camera setup there, always good to have some overlap, especially if one might perform better at night...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Looks pretty good, have you tried a walk test on it with IR, the cat walking away will work in the 8.33 shutters favour, just make sure when you cross the scene left to right that motion blur isn't a factor. If this is the case then shutter will have to be lower and gain pushed up a touch.

Sometimes text like book chapters are just as good as videos and pictures, especially if they are filled with wisdom and experience :thumb: - try the suggestions, if they work well, add that person to the 'they know what they are talking about list' :lmao: I would agree with this 100%, as the...

OK, I am quite certain this latest 1028 firmware is a step forward, both in daytime and night images. Feels like some of the automatic processing has been pulled back, I am seeing more natural looking (sometimes a little fine noise, which is OK) but colour at night and daytime is looking better...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Indeed, 1/120 or even 1/250 would be my go to on most IP cams, the 54Pro for me is actually running at 1/500 or faster :wow: :wtf: but I like my motion properly frosty!

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes, VBR was just not for me, I find it tends to react too slowly if there is critical motion before quality picks up, this depends on the scene maybe, you mileage may vary. As you have seen in 'auto' mode or similar, images look amazing until something moves, then it all collapses :) You also...

Perfection is a good target  tend to aim for that one myself! Keep FPS and iFrame matched, so 15FPS and iFrame 15, and so on, this gives best quality along with keeping bit rate high. Oh yes and CBR as noted by @bigredfish above.

Sounds like you had some work on there! with an IT/networking background, you will be fine tuning these in, work on one first then dial those settings to the other once happy. Tweak from there, normally you will get similar settings for most with minor adjustments for night depending on location...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Only briefly had chance to check the 1028 but I am sure in the daylight it looks better, at night not too much change but I see some frames at night in colour that look quite nice, very very fine noise which I like, retains detail in those situations as mentioned above. Very happy to see more of...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is looking pretty good to me, I saw your night video and thought the shutter could be a bit faster, I am finding that 0-2ms or even less works best for these, depending on how sensitive you are to having totally frozen motion. Sharpness I would say drop to below 25 if you can, mine is below...
