    BI Setup EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if perhaps there was something wrong with my system, but it's good to get confirmation that others are seeing this issue. I did encounter a missed alert after changing some settings and the camera being in this error state quite some time after the change...

    BI Setup EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3

I was thinking of it as a redundancy check, where if one failed, the other could work. I did have a case where I only saw ONVIF, and not AI. But since I've not yet seen the opposite case (AI without ONVIF), it leads one to believe the IVS triggers are catching everything. But I need more time to...

    BI Setup EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 / Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3

Is it possible to have both IVS and BI AI enabled, or can that cause problems. As it stands, I think that's what I have. My alerts indicate: "AI, ONVIF, Zone A". I have an intrusion area defined within each camera, and I also have a zone setup in the BI camera settings. So am I correct in...

Question regarding use of in-camera AI (IVS as mentioned above) vs. an on-server AI approach. I've read that in some cases (not necessarily specific to these particular cameras) that in-camera AI can sometimes miss an event, and that it's better to have the AI functionality on the server. I am...

I've setup my cameras following the suggestions I've received for the most part and what I'm seeing is that the 4K cameras shift to night mode way sooner than my Reolink doorbell camera. The screenshot below is from my Blue Iris PC showing the 7 4K cameras in night mode with the Reolink doorbell...

Since my image was already dark to begin with, I would think that a faster shutter would make the scene darker. But I guess the higher gain would compensate?

@wittaj: Your setup in your first response has helped me greatly. Once I got one camera setup, I went to the maintenance menu and exported the configuration file, then imported that into the other 6 cameras. I found one camera looked quite dim outdoors as compared to another one using the same...

Good deals on Reolink Refurbished ($70 PoE Doorbells) and much more at their eBay store

I found the Reolink PoE Doorbell Camera White model for sale on eBay. It is refurbished and being sold by Reolink for $77.99. I bought one to replace the black one I had as I have a tall / narrow entryway and wanted the white one but previously couldn’t find it. I received and installed it...

Regarding the camera configure screen capture above, "Make" field, I see Generic/ONVIF selected. Has that been found to work better vs. selecting something more specific, e.g. Dahua or Empire Technology?

One good thing about my home environment is that it's never really dark (unless there's a neighborhood power failure). Lots of neighbors with lights on 24/7 and street lights. Hoping these cameras will do better in that setting than if it was really dark.

After I asked the previous question, I used the AI chat link you sent previously, and it essentially replied with what you included above. Thanks for that link - I'll be using that a lot. ;)

Thank you all very much for the high level of detail replies! Much appreciated! I will be using a NIC with a different subnet on my BI PC, so the cameras cannot "phone home", as there is no network path to the main home network. But I too am leery of installing manufacturers app, so I will try...

I'm a noob and have BI v6. I just bought some EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 cameras, which I believe is the same as the Dahua 5842T-ZE-S3. I'd just like to get the basic setup on the camera Video / Configure screen from someone who knows BI and has this camera. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for these links. My camera requirements are for exterior home surveillance from about 15 feet under the eaves. I’m currently looking at the EmpireTech IPC-T58IR-ZE-S3 camera which has 2.7mm - 12mm vari focal motorized optical zoom. This would allow me to get up to 113 degrees HFOV while...

Hello, I'm just getting started. I've purchased the computer, PoE switch, and a Reolink doorbell camera so far just to test everything before going further. I've got my system set up with BI v6. I set up a VPN server within my Asus router with DDNS so I can access videos and NAS from outside my...
