    I can see both sides. The increased deduction is only for those old enough to collect Social Security so it will help offset income and reduce tax liability for those collecting SS. Nothing wrong with an additional $13,500 tax deduction! Not necessarily what I would do if I were President but...

    They started with the wrong car. A model 3 is way too small. Model Y works great as a patrol car\chase vehicle. Long haul they need to still use ICE vehicles.

    My rate plan with PG&E is net metering. When I produce more Kwh than I use it becomes a credit (meter runs backwards). When I use more than I produce it works off the credit first. I use more than I produce so at the end of 12 months I owe for the additional usage called an annual true up...

    $16,000 (2017) with a 7 year payback at that time. With electric price increases payback happened in ~5 years. Now what the panels produce is free. Looking back I should have installed more panels. Still have a $800 true up cost each Nov. with the EV.

    My solar covers 80-85% of my EV electric cost. The remaining comes from a combination of other solar, hydro and NG. Maybe a small part geothermal from Sonoma and nuclear from San Luis Obispo.

    I don't think EV Semis are the only answer. Long haul routes are best left to the diesels. But many routes are one day, non-overnight hauls and most can be completed with the EV. I've had a diesel dually since 2001 to haul a heavy RV. No way could I do that with any of the current EV pickups...

    I think people are waiting for the cybertrunk. If a high enough percentage of reservation holders bail and forfeit their deposit we will probable see many of them buy a Lightining or Rivian.
