    Thanks for your feedback wittaj. The current is only 300 mA so maybe my worries are unwarranted. The illuminator is expensive and I don't want to kill it or the camera by hooking them up the wrong way.

    Same here. It works fine with my Chromium based browsers other than the constant nagging to install the web plugin. I wish there was a way to disable it :p
