Blueiris System Constantly Crashing. Crash Dump Attached.

That is multiple different bugcheck codes....seems like it could be anything. If the whole computer is crashing and rebooting then it can't really be blamed on Blue Iris and is probably bad hardware or a bad device driver. When Blue Iris crashes, normally you would just find application errors...

Need help with new networks install.

@dudemaar the TP-Link managed switch you linked is in fact designed to be a router, and is overpriced for what you need. I agree with @The Automation Guy that you can get cheaper cable. Though it doesn't really matter if it is single mode or multi mode fiber, just get whichever is cheaper in my...

    Version 6

It better not mean that. We have words for auto renewing systems that make it difficult for people to cancel. They are not kind words.

    Version 6

I advise getting the latest update of 5.9.9.99 from https://blueirissoftware.com/60/Update64_59999.exe and then I assume it will be fixed.

That is weird, what version of Blue Iris is that in? The button has never been disabled for me that I've noticed.

    Spycam - wall outlet

I don't think any of the serious reputable security camera manufacturers make hidden cameras like that since they'd get lots of bad press when people use them for illegal purposes. You will just have to try your luck with whatever you can find and hope it isn't unreliable garbage. This one...

pfsense/haproxy/blueiris always shows "200" in logs

That is a quirk of HTTP basic/digest authentication. Logging out the Blue Iris session does not clear the credentials from the web browser, so the web browser just reauthenticates you immediately on every single request to the BI web server. So I think when you logged out and then tried logins...

"Network Loops & Storm Control STP State Flapping"

That message would indicate that the switch detected a network loop and shut one of the ports down to stop it. It is quite possibly not your fault, apparently recent(ish) Unifi firmware has a barely acknowledged bug related to this...

    Version 6

Yes. I noticed this change earlier in the 5.9.9.9x series of updates but for some reason I thought it got reverted it back to splitting them out by color. I am not entirely sure if this change is intentional or if it would be considered a bug. But it is there for me too. UI3 will continue...

Upgrade links go to Amazon Norton sales page?!

The in-app maintenance purchase links go to stripe.com for me and they do not redirect to amazon or sendowl or shareit. Also the prices seem to be lower than advertised in-app, so I wonder if the price is about to go up when BI 6 is officially released.

    Version 6 Beta

Blue Iris uses a kind of weird method to install UI3. I don't know what the installation code looks like, but by observation I think what happens is this: BlueIris.exe has embedded a ui3 release zip file (the same zip file you'd get if you downloaded a UI3 release zip from github) On the first...

    Blue Iris Help Chatbot

I do like that. LLMs are really quite good at parsing larger bodies of text and extracting just the parts you care about. I consider that Network IP camera configuration panel to be one of the rougher parts of Blue Iris, and unfortunately it is one of the first things new users have to learn...

pfsense/haproxy/blueiris always shows "200" in logs

You could change the authentication method in web server settings, to HTTP digest authentication. You won't get Blue Iris's login page anymore and you should get standard HTTP digest authentication which I assume haproxy will be able to handle. You can send BI's logs to a syslog server via the...

Can only see one camera at a time when looking at history?

You have the "Selected camera only" function enabled at the top of the clip list. It is a little double-circle (in BI 5) icon with the number "1" inside it, or square in BI 6.

Blue Iris Updates - Official Thread

Yes. https://blueirissoftware.com/#support If you do the auto-renewing option within Blue Iris, it is $5 cheaper. Then you can cancel after paying for the first year if you want.

Blue Iris Updates - Official Thread

Just a reminder for everyone, when Version 6.x actually arrives, UI3's default color scheme will change. If you don't like the new purple color scheme, you can change it back in UI Settings > General Settings > Color Theme. Or you can preview/pre-assign your preference now.

    Struggling with EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2

I have no experience with Unifi video or their AI port product, but make sure Smart Codec is off and set the i-frame intervals to match the frame rates on your streams (there are all settings in the camera's web interface). This is based on the theory that loading its live view may require an...

Do you use a patch panel?

Absolutely true. Even in houses with network wiring in the walls, most inhabitants aren't going to use it :(

    Temporary POE connection.

I wouldn't buy the 2-port extender. I've installed 3 MokerLink models and they work fine. https://amazon.com/dp/B0CJ912YWH

    Blue Iris Help Chatbot

Unfortunately a chat bot will be of very limited use for issues that are not answered clearly in the help file or in the LLM's original training data.

Do you use a patch panel?

Interesting. They seem to think keystone jacks / patch panels help signal integrity versus crimping an RJ45 male connector directly onto solid copper ethernet cable. But they don't provide any actual evidence. So for all I can tell they are just trying to sell you more equipment.

    Tail Scale VPN

I still install Zerotier and Tailscale both on new remote machines just for redundancy, but yeah Tailscale seems to be better at NAT traversal (establishing direct tunnels through NAT). Both can be problematic depending on your router though. pfsense in particular is known to have a "hard NAT"...

    Version 6 Beta

Nothing is available yet to explicitly say if direct-to-wire is working. I test by checking the codec and bit rate in Stats for nerds. I also configure my direct to wire profile to be very low quality and bit rate otherwise so you can tell by bit rate if direct to wire is working. The delay...

Anybody try Visible Wireless for cell phone provider?

US Mobile is pretty hard to beat. You tend to pay around 10-50% of what you would if subscribed directly to the big carriers. On US Mobile the "Warp" network is Verizon. "Dark Star" is AT&T. "Light Speed" is T-Mobile. MobileX is also fairly competitive in price (I and a few family members...

    Blue Iris UI3

I wrote up a post in another thread about new H.265 support in Blue Iris 5.9.9.99 (a.k.a. Blue Iris 6 beta) and UI3, and I'm copying it here to increase awareness. H.265 encoding was added in some of the earlier Blue Iris 5.9.9.99 releases (a.k.a. Blue Iris 6 beta) and I already got it working...

General Recommendations / NVR / Nvidia Driver Recommendations

This limitation is somewhat going away with Blue Iris 6. H.265 encoding was added in some of the earlier Blue Iris 5.9.9.99 releases (a.k.a. Blue Iris 6 beta) and I already got it working in UI3. Compatibility is spotty. Here is a limited compatibility matrix based on my own testing. Right...

    Foscam Keeps Loosing Connection

All kinds of weird stuff can happen on a network. I advise looking at opnsense's system log for "arp" or "10.0.0.207" lines to see if anything weird is happening with the 10.0.0.207 IP address. I run pfsense myself and it tends to log when different MAC addresses take over an IP address (which...

"Around 50,000 ASUS routers have been compromised in a sophisticated attack..."

For some reason I find it surprising that 50,000 people thought it was a good idea to turn on remote access to their routers. You don't want to do that even with Opnsense or Unifi. Unifi's cloud management scares me too -- yet many businesses use it even though you'd think they would know better.
