    sunset keeps shifting

Here is my input. More basic than others. I would remove the Hikvison DVR out of the equation first (most likely this hasn't been setup with Onvif set-up correctly, hence it not being valid). Default as suggested the NVR and required IP cameras, indeed use your separate power supply for this...

    sunset keeps shifting

On your previous other posts I understood it was a 5 series camera and NVR, sorry if I misunderstood. But now it was set-up after the hard drive installation with a pattern lock, that you may think? Also that your not aware of any system password. Have you ever retrieved a user manual for the...

So the NVR is a 5 series or a 4 series? Of course I am aware that the camera is an 5 series. And you now have forgotten the password?

    sunset keeps shifting

I'm very confused. On your other post: "profile night - sun keeps setting later" You stated you had a 5 series NVR now it's a 4 series NVR. Also the NVR 4.0 picture you posted doesn't look familiar to a standard Dahua OS (operating system). Perhaps you can clarify the points raised please?

    Dust?

Indeed looks like a spiders partial web, with dust particles attached. Give the camera a decent clean and the adjacent area of the camera location.

How to reduce random pixel snowflakes

That looks like digital zoom, so it's going to look poor. I would bring the sharpness way down to 40-45. Hopefully this will help the melting lips.

DMSS /w Dahua camera setup is unable to get Intelligent Video (e.g. vehicles / humans)

I understand the original poster had mentioned "motion" detection, rather than IVS. Another ball game for AI/IVS tuition!

DMSS /w Dahua camera setup is unable to get Intelligent Video (e.g. vehicles / humans)

If it's an analogue DVR (XVR)? Most likely the not so smart SMD setting, has not been set-up correctly for the motion detection for human/vehicle.

DMSS /w Dahua camera setup is unable to get Intelligent Video (e.g. vehicles / humans)

I would go back to the supplier/installer of the system and get them to rectify the discrepancies with the system.

Perhaps your recording the sub stream instead of the main steam?

I'm not gay, also. 5 children, mostly grown up nearly! Via a true woman. I definitely don't fancy men. Perhaps the password is "gay"?

Hi Gay How on earth would we know the username and password for your NVR. You must have the username and password somewhere. If you legitimately acquired the NVR.

    DMSS app filters

Have you tried deleting the NVR device and deleting the DMSS app totally, then reinstall DMSS and NVR. This should pull the correct NVR data.

    PTZ Camera setup nightmare...

You have my sympathy. We here at this forum, have most likely been in the same situation as yourself. It indeed does take time to correctly setup and optimise a camera for both daylight and nighttime Your PTZ seems a reasonable camera. Others on this forum will hopefully guide you to resolve...

    Dumb member need help understanding

That's a bit like me saying I have a car and I can change it to a motorbike. It's a XVR. Think it wise to get the OP to acquire the largest hard drive for the XVR that it can accommodate. Or upgrade the XVR to at least a 2 hard drive bay unit.

    Dumb member need help understanding

The XVR is a DVR & NVR, hence it being labelled an XVR. Half breed to work with analogue CVI, etc cams and also IP cameras.

Viewing camera video from network to TV

In the UK if I was asked to complete a task as this, I would use a HDMI to DVB (digital video broadcast) modulator. Then run a good quality 125/165 grade coaxial cable to the TV's. Split the signal to both hopefully compatible DVB TV receivers. Latency will be approx 2-3 seconds!
