pfsense and BI - multi LAN or multi NIC?

The main thing I do with pfSense is isolate different LANs with different levels of security.

pfsense and BI - multi LAN or multi NIC?

RADIUS means individual wifi logins? How difficult is that to accomplish?

pfsense and BI - multi LAN or multi NIC?

I have pfSense and just acquired a Unifi AP that supports VLANs. I was going to put this AP on a dedicated port but apparently VLAN and non-VLAN traffic can flow on the same pfSense port?

PIR or other sensors used with BI?

I have too much headlight activity at my house to use camera triggers to find events of interest during night hours. Does anyone else have PIR or other sensors successfully working as inputs to BI? Thanks.

    Triggering trickery?

I do have some yellow border blinking on the console so apparently something isn't happy. I'm not sure what the issue is. I have an identical Starlight camera set up the same way and yet it seems to be fine.

    Triggering trickery?

    Just "use zones and hotspot."

    Triggering trickery?

I had always heard here that triggered recording was not reliable, but I have never seen such a clear cut case of it as I have now with a camera I have been testing in a temporary location. I have it set up near floor level in a hallway of my basement. I am still using BI4 with the triggering...

Rain causing triggering in Blue Iris, sounds familiar? What did you do?

A few nights ago I was noticing a lot of IR illuminated snow flake streaks were really visible on one of my cameras but not the others. Not sure why.

Camera designed to be mounted against a window pane?

Are there cameras designed for this? I am thinking of a situation where you simply need a camera to look out of a window. Obviously you don't want reflections from the window to cause trouble. Thanks.

Black Friday 2019 is around the corner!

I bought a camera on Sunday and there was a small discount when I got to checkout.

So there is a "hidden" sale until Cyber Monday?

New ZUMIMALL rechargeable IP Camera setup

I posted the question on Amazon. Maybe someone will answer.

New ZUMIMALL rechargeable IP Camera setup

I guess my question is -- can you do both? If someone takes the camera it would be nice to have a cloud recording of that.

New ZUMIMALL rechargeable IP Camera setup

I am curious whether it can use the microSD card to buffer and backup the data? If it has to use a PIR sensor to detect motion and wake up and then get a wifi connection and then connect to cloud storage that might lose several seconds in addition to being unable to record the pre-trigger time.

New ZUMIMALL rechargeable IP Camera setup

Did you ever figure this out? I'm guessing the camera does not support ONVIF.

Stand alone camera vs. doorbell camera?

A friend has a need for a minimal system and is intent on purchasing a Ring doorbell. I don't know how a single IP camera would compare to that in terms of ease-of-use and effectiveness. She has decided to try a few of these cheap wifi cameras... Amazon ZumiMall WiFi Camera

Stand alone camera vs. doorbell camera?

I am wondering if anyone here has experimented with the use of a single camera installed independently? No NVR. Just an installed microSD card. Could that minimal system be useful or is the recording time too short?

    Thunderstorms and electrical surges

Had a thunderstorm last week which apparently blew out a 8-port Netgear switch and damaged a 4-port Intel NIC card. I'm not sure what actually happened but I do have a 100ft CAT6 cable which runs from the basement to the 2nd floor and another 100ft CAT6 cable which runs from the basement to the...

    Sick Starlight?

Oh hell, my profile/schedule for this camera was screwed up. User error.

    Sick Starlight?

It isn't clear to me what functions are provided by the camera and which ones Blue Iris merely provides an interface to. Certainly the camera has onboard motion detection and even face detection.

    Sick Starlight?

Are you saying that Blue Iris is the problem and not the camera?

    Sick Starlight?

I just noticed that my Starlight IPC-HFW4239T-ASE has stopped triggering. It won't even trigger with the "trigger now" command. I bought it in mid-January from Andy. I tried cycling power. Any other ideas?

    So what does BI5 fix?

The clips window never made any sense to me. I don't care about clips. I just want to select a time and start viewing, so I would use the Timeline to select a time. I didn't suspect that there would be a critical icon on the clips window that would affect the viewer.

    So what does BI5 fix?

Okay, I wish I had known about that icon. Otherwise I have no use for the clips window.

    So what does BI5 fix?

How can I do that on BI4 ?
  29. D

    So what does BI5 fix?

I'm afraid to even look at it. Can I review one camera and skip ahead to the next events only on THAT ONE camera? I don't want to jump to other cameras. I don't want to fight with viewing things that bridge two clips.
