    What is the iP of your unifi 8 switch? What is the IP of the computer and can it access the switch and log into the switch? Factory reset the dahua camera by holding the button, then plug only the camera and the computer into the switch and test.

    Red Band on left edge of videos

    I have two new Hikvision 8MP cameras and they both have this vertical red band on the left edge of videos. Is it a problem with the lens? I can see it in both indoor and outdoor videos. Tried factory reset on both.

    Disregard what I said. I only said to change the switch so that it is on the same network as the camera so you can initialize it.

    Was that switch brand new? The default IP of that switch should've been 192.168.0.1. If it's working now then its probably configured already.

    Ok, configure your TP LINK switch to be on the 192.168.1.1 network. Plug in a computer to the switch and configure the computer to either a static ip on that range or if you enabled DHCP on that switch it should hand out an IP to your PC in that range and you can configure your cameras.

    Your DHCP pool 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254. Your camera 192.168.1.108. What is your PC IP? Your PC has to be on same subnet as camera to talk to it. Is it a managed POE switch ?

    I suggest to do the 24/7 recording on nVR. On the SD cards configure the camera to record motion only for backup.

    Can ping camera but can't access it

    Are you pinging 192.168.1.108 after the factory reset? I had this problem on 2 of my cameras after I updated the firmware and it was fixed with factory reset.
