Did you think you were going to get BI6 for free? I don't understand why you would install 6 and THEN uninstall 5 thinking you weren't going to have to pay for it?? I also find it hard to believe you don't have a backup of the BI5 installer somewhere, you must think nothing ever breaks :)
yes that is normal, you can just manually delete the BI5 folder. As far as registry, it uses the same registry keys as the BI5 did. I had BI6 up now for 15+ hours and seems to run fine.
I am happy with mine. It helps keep my neighbor's fucking cat from spraying my tree or other items on porch. I wasn't expecting the 8th wonder of the world out of a $200 camera, and to me it works fine. But everyone has their right to your own opinion, and I'm cool with that. A very wise man...
yeah after going through a few installs, do not restart the computer until the BI install has completely finished. The MS Visual install tries to make you reboot the computer before BI is done....that needs to be fixed. Not a huge issue but will confuse many.
That's correct, it may want you to restart pc during set up....let the setup finish completely and then restart. If you use it as a service you will also need to select that again.

I felt brave yesterday an
d threw on 5.9.9.99v7 beta on my main BI Machine and so far, all is looking good and working fine. So, we are getting closer! Also tested it with wife's iPhone and my android app, that works fine now too :)
On my android phone, I had to switch the lan encoder profile to vbr...then it worked. Then I switched the BI web server to "bitrate" and then my phone went back to CBR? But it does work now. It was like I had to cycle the options.
Is anyone else having issue with the latest beta version not shutting down. This is NOT running as a service mode. The last 2 releases when I close BI I see all the cams go to snow and then it just hangs. I have to use task manager to manually kill it. Other than that, it now does stream to my...
A lot of that is due to Ken changed the way it reads CPU usage. Look at your task manager and maybe adjust your CPU factor. I had to change mine to .750 to make it same as task managers.
I can connect using Android app a few times, then it gets in a can't connect state. If I restart the service then I can connect, for awhile
Running 5.9.9.99 r4
YES, I was getting this too on just some cameras. I found that the cameras that had black thunbs had this unchecked....I thought I had that checked on all of my cams before?
