Need help accessing my network from LAN

hm, no, I just did it, and made it go. But There's a Self Hosted guy that works there that has - so these might help: I run it in docker here at home, and I run it on a vps. so between the vps and home there's a tunnel. You can run baremetal as well. Or on ios I just use the tailscale app...

Need help accessing my network from LAN

Fine. But you still need somethings tailscale or pangolin.wireguard. Becuase a cgnat ip address isnt public. Or ask your isp for a static ip

Need help accessing my network from LAN

A 100 wan address like that, I bet you’ve moved behind cgnat. So direct access most likely will not work. Look at something like tailscale. Which implements a vpn. Using a vpn is also preferable to direct access to your camera/nvr. As how good was its front door for security

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

I think it's 27 panels plus a powerwall. I made myself into a solar "installer" - Home and designed one. Was a fun exercise. It gives wholesale prices to calculate the cost of the system.

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

80k seems very high. I was look at at 40k systems in NZD - which would be 20k USD. I use about 30kw a day (plus natural gas at the moment which I'd want to transition off)

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

I guess there's no harm in a generator for your emergency supply, but you'd add solar + a battery just to reduce your reliance on the power grid - ie against rising costs. So it would (hopefully) reduce your utilities costs most of the time, and then you can feed your battery/house during an...

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

yes, but you don't tend to buy a powerwallfor backup power.....it's normally bought in conjunction with a solar system.....with while the battery is only 13kwh - you're generating power all day that you consume, with the battery just for sunset to sunrise. Also curious all you guys buying...

    DMSS notification display question

So I get that it comes from my series 4 nvr as in the first moment says NVR. But it never decodes the channels names, even though they are all set.

    DMSS notification display question

Mine are named, as they show up in the DSMSS app as a channel name (and that is populated from the NVR). It been the behaviour since push notifications were added

    DMSS notification display question

Yeah I wondered if it was some sort of channel to name mapping that happened there when the push was sent.

    DMSS notification display question

I thought that was something to do with having a cloud account with them - which I dont do. So like you I put up with it.

Outbound email motivations from basic camera.

Yeah it’s hard without a domain. Else there are lots of smtp services. Or me, I’d just put postfix on something

Outbound email motivations from basic camera.

Because of the Hotmail Auth changes, what can the average joe do for outbound smtp from say a camera. Push notifications are annoying. At least email you can review at your leisure. They don’t allow any incoming connections, but like to review the motion emails coming from their camera...

RDP to Blue Iris over LAN – can it be done securely?

Oh are you only interested in locally? most of these types of queries relate to access from the internet. I mean you can lock your machine down....but if someones already in your network (assuming you're not in a shared network - flatmates school) then you have bigger problems.

RDP to Blue Iris over LAN – can it be done securely?

If you don't already have vpn (and even then I'd shy away from that as it means exposing ports) in favour of tailscale. Connect to tailscale, then connect to rdp.

Trying to figure out how to safely remotely view my blue iris system.

The will be a magic dns name of each node the name should be accessible I assume windows is the blue iris? Also in the tailscale iOS app if you click on the windows machine name you can get ip. That should be accessible from your phone if tailscale is running on both (active on iOS and...

Trying to figure out how to safely remotely view my blue iris system.

If you’re mucking about with cloudflare, you might as well use an Argo tunnel. but then, and whoamis complicated method, both least blueiris fronting the internet authentication. a vpn or tailscale doesn’t.

Trying to figure out how to safely remotely view my blue iris system.

Having done vpns in the past, both pptp and later IPsec. Becuase my unifi gear supported it. I’ve now disabled in favour of tailscale. So much easier. install on phone. Install on device in network (blue iris machine (windows?) Will do. And off you go. You can fiddle with dns and subnet...

    Anybody using Cloudflare Tunnel?

I use it for home assistant because I’m confident it’s authentication system with password and Totp is robust enough to be exposed. I would like to figure out how to get it behind cloudflare access as well but that would need a service token added to the home assistant app, that is passed through

    Pushover issue

I'd start by removing a bunch of stuff, and just getting a simple message working. Then add the device, sound, attachments, html message etc. It could be as escaping issue on the html in the message, or the paths for the sound/attachment. I've only every done it in linux. Take it right...

    Pushover issue

Could you have provided any less information? What is the curl command they are running (minus any tokens/keys) What does the response look like (actual, not an interpretation of it).

    Anybody using Cloudflare Tunnel?

Not for cameras, but I do use it. For web access you could use it behind their access controls But if you wanted access via mobile, then it's a bit like port forwarding. Just opens it up to the outside world and then use the native security controls on the interface for log in. I expect you...

    Moving away from ubiquiti routing?

You can self host the unifi controller as well. Even a pi can. Though think your site might be a bit big for a pi.

Anyone stopped receiving IOS alerts from DMSS in the past couple of days?

I have mine set the following, maybe alarm does it? This is the IVS settings. I do have one camera, that even though this is set, it never posts notification, and I have to revert to motion detection.

Anyone stopped receiving IOS alerts from DMSS in the past couple of days?

I think once the camera is recording an ivs rule, that just setting the phone notification handles it. I don’t think you have to turn on alarm or emails snapshot or anything on the camera

I use pushover via a number of platforms. Not BI though. And I’ve not noticed any delays.
