2025 EmpireTech Product Release
Was going to wait for round two ... but decided what the heck, might as well join the party ... so just ordered a T54PRO-ZE. Order page said only TWO left (now one) and (now) only two PFB2203W wall brackets left ... BTW, the specs say it will support 1TB SD card which would be a welcome...- alekk

All else equal, it's just optical physics that larger sensor size will result in less depth of field. Here's a DOF calculator to show that. Ditto that @steve1225 is super knowledge (sign me up for "his" Ultra!) and has some great suggestions (ditto others) so yea, I agree that it would be good... -

That's a nice feature ... since it's sometimes tricky to get Dome cameras to point exactly where you want it ... and then when you put the Dome over, there is some slight distortion that changes the FOV. Plus then you don't have to get up on the ladder and juggle taking the dome off/on, look... -

I'm assuming @steve1225 those videos were taken/uploaded with similar parameters ... the left side looks over-sharpened, but maybe the limits of the 54IR that the 54PRO has improved on? I like that "fence" on the right side as I can use it to try to assess acuity over distance. Was is exactly... -

I took a quick look at the videos (LOL an apple fell from the tree!) and the 59ZE looks a LOT better than the 54ZE to me ... albeit I can I see what @jmcu was talking about how the 54ZE can be sharper. Thanks a bunch @duplo for including some images - since I can easily download and flip... -

Based on @steve1225's (always) informative followup, it sounds like that same parameters (1/120 Shutter, 50 Gain, and 100 Iris with 30 2D/3D NR) were used on all camera in the first 20 seconds of this video As I said, "HOLY CRAP, the 54PRO-AS just CRUSHES the beloved T54IR-Z3-S3" So that's why... -

Ditto what @steve1225 said that if you have time @jmcu, would be great to see some faster shutter speed footage to "push" the lens/cameras. As he also pointed out, dial in some gain (which I don't know enough about the Dahua world)... but similar to camera testing, bump the (basically) ISO up... -

Great footage @jmcu ... just to be clear, was the gain (ISO) "about" the same on all of them? At a QUICK glance, the overall exposure level seems about the same on all of them ... but looks like some "boost" in the shadows especially for the IPC-54PRO-AS. I think (?) I saw some better dynamic... -
