    Who knows ESP-32?

I have a Lenovo Thinkcenter on the way to run Home Assistant on. When that gets here I'll get ESPHome loaded on it. I had ordered the parts above, but am now considering going with the one below to simplify wiring and everything inside of the enclosure. Will I lose anything by going with this...

The Z4 and Z12E are set it, and forget it, focus/zoom. They are not PTZs.

    Who knows ESP-32?

This is what I ended up with: 8 Channel, 5v Relay Module https://a.co/d/9MMoo4h ESP-WROOM-32 Dev Board with Expansion Board https://a.co/d/731UaVk I plan to use 12v fans off of the relays. To keep power wire confusion at a minimum, I would like to power the ESP32 with 12v. Can I do that...

    Who knows ESP-32?

Right now I am trying to wrap my head around hardware so I can get it on the way while I look into set up and programming. My thoughts are a simple setup of the controller, relays, DS18B20 temp probe, and an LCD screen to display temp locally. Which is the better/easier path? Is there a...

    Who knows ESP-32?

Right now I only plan to build two of these, so I'm not sure I want to also go through and do Home Assistant, but maybe later on if I find more uses or other reasons. Would I use the Command Line install method?

    Who knows ESP-32?

I have gone round and round with the best way to control temps in an outdoor projector enclosure, and I think I have finally settled on trying to build a multi-channel ESP-32 controller. The catch? I know nothing about ESP-32. How did I get here? My current enclosure uses an Inkbird wifi temp...

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

This is what I captured last night when a couple randomly decided to take a photo with my Christmas decorations. I feel my triple lens captures could be much better. They also couldn't have stopped in a worse spot. They avoided a lot of my triggers, haha. I have a Color4K-X from over the...

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

Yea, not overly happy with it at night, but it's likely the limitation of 2MP. Could be better, but could be worse. I have a lot of IR on the front of the house too.

    Streaming to Youtube? Quality/Resoution settings?

I am on a 5.9 version. It wasn't difficult. Click Go Live, then create a Stream Key (and make sure to adjust the resolution accordingly before saving it). If you have been live before, then just select the appropriate Stream Key from the drop down. Then in Blue Iris, from the camera's settings...

    Streaming to Youtube? Quality/Resoution settings?

I didn't realize there was also a setting in the camera's settings. Youtube kept alarming saying it was at 514kbps and should be higher (23500kbps). I looked at the camera settings and it was 512. I turned off the limit, and it is much better now with way less dithering.

    Streaming to Youtube? Quality/Resoution settings?

Ooh, that could help, but I also found the setting on Youtube that was set to VBR, which made a huge difference. I just bumped my streaming bitrate from 1024 to 10240.

    Streaming to Youtube? Quality/Resoution settings?

Well, I just remembered I can't stream direct from the camera because it can't see the internet... So it looks like I am stuck with the crappy 480p resolution.

    Streaming to Youtube? Quality/Resoution settings?

We have a big snow storm coming, and I am streaming my West Sky Cam to Youtube. How do I get the quality higher than 480? Is that possible? If I streamed from the camera, would it be better? I would prefer to stream from BI so I can keep the weather info overlay, but if direct from the camera...

Dahua 5442T-ZE at 70-100 ft - tuning limit or upgrade needed?

You are trying to ask too much of a single camera. One camera cannot do it all. You cannot see everything and still see details. Getting good details does not allow you to see everything; it is a give and take. This is why a good system will have cameras that complement each other. This is...

    Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

52X3IR I would like the ability to ID better, but as bigred said below, it is likely just the limitation of them being 2MP. With the quality of the images, I grade them as a high Recognize with a touch of ID. For reference, this is the B54IR-Z4E 4MP bullet at 65', with very, very little...

    Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

I have two of these on the front of my house, and even with the massive amount of IR that is present, I struggle to get good night captures. Daytime is much better. It is just over 100' to the sidewalk on the other side of the road.

How in the hell does one talk to Dahua??

I want the specific grommet/bushing they use on the top of their PFA130 junction boxes. I will accept nothing else.

How in the hell does one talk to Dahua??

I get it, but if that is the case then why do they have contact options available? If they wanted only contact from installers, dealers, etc then put it behind an account wall.
