    Mowing and edging

You can’t tell me these unedged sections of sidewalk look better than the edged sections.

    Mowing and edging

To me, it's the same as getting your hair cut and not trimming around your ears. The next time I go for a walk I'll grab a picture of two neighbors with differing philosophies. I would like your opinion on which you prefer.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Mine doesn't scan, but it is parked towards a house with kids. Inevitably it will be tracking one of them running down the sidewalk when someone is walking from the other direction. But, again, all the more reason this should be a nice-to-have addition and not an anchor to a system.

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

Here is what I have set up on the clone of the wide FOV, that I am using as the "spotter". Camera IVS list: Spotter ONVIF settings, with IVS names added: Spotter Alert actions: For the three FOVs (cameras) I am triggering, ONVIF is unchecked on their trigger pages, as well as on their...

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

After looking at it again this morning, I had to make some changes. I ended up cloning the wide view as a spotter and using that to control all three views via the named ONVIF triggers. I was getting a bunch of 2-3 second clips on the wide view and I think it was due to how I set up the IVS...

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

I found your instructions in the PTZ spotter thread and got it figured out. Since the IVS triggers only come in on the main/wide view, you basically treat that as the spotter for the other two views. Once I figured that out, I got it working.

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

I don't hate it, but it could be better. It's also pretty quiet here and I haven't had to pull any footage, so other than just looking at alerts every now and then, there isn't and "real world" crime footage to get an opinion from.

How do I know which memo field to put the name of the IVS rule in? Or do I just do it for all of the memos at the bottom?

Teaser Info and Mini Review - Empiretech B52IR-X3 Triple Lens Camera

In BI, how do I decipher which IVS rule is which? Currently when any tripwire or intrusion box is tripped it will trigger all 3 cameras to record. This is annoying because I will have tons of alerts on some where the person never enters its FOV which just adds a bunch of erroneous clips and...

    Need recommendations on PTZ cameras.

I agree. Other than the wrong size sensor, the mini-PTZ was much better than the other one. It tracked faster, had better focus at distance, low/no false IVS triggers, etc. I am still not happy with my PTZ5A4M.

    I put together a sky/roof rig with (4) 180* Color4K cams...

No changes yet. I would like to replace the 4 180s with custom 3D printed mounts and 8 Color4K cams, but $$$.

    Blue Iris UI3

It was happening on my 11 Pro and I had hoped the 17e I just got would fix it, but, alas, it did not. I'll just need to deal with pinching when I want to view landscape, and making sure to enable that in all of my shortcuts.

    Blue Iris UI3

No, I can't scroll to see more. If I am on the view with the PTZ controls and drop downs, that area is scrollable, but nothing else. Toggling native zoom did not make a difference initially, but I am now able to pinch the screen to make the single, landscape feed smaller and then, when I...

No, it's really weird. If I navigate to UI3 in Safari or Chrome, it behaves as expected. If I add a link to the home screen, then open the link, this is where it shifts UI3 down. It doesn't matter if I make the link from Safari or Chrome, it behaves the same way in both. Browser: Link from...

I am having some issues with my iPhone. Everything looks fine in standard view, but if I click a camera feed and rotate the phone to landscape so the feed is full screen, the image will be shifted down the screen, cutting off maybe 1/4" of the FOV. Is there something I need to change/adjust for...

PoE cable routing in Australian homes

Yea, you will use one of those two standards because they're the only two... I found similar information. I believe most patch cables are T568B, so it would likely be best to use that standard over the older T568A, especially for new installs.

Mail theft revisited 2020 long version ...for those who may not know

I had this issue with a couple of my cameras. My flag's shadow would constantly trigger a few front cameras so they were essentially just recording 100% main stream instead of sub+trigger.

Looking for ideas on monitoring driveway.

Night coverage is possible with the right camera. This area is very, very low light and a B54IR-Z4E is able to capture people 65' away without issue.
