    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

One thing I have since set up for the Color4M-T overseeing the porch and front entry door is a motion detection zone with another camera for anyone entering my yard between 11pm-5am. The intrusion will send the alarm signal to my NVR, which then outputs to a wireless switch connected to a...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Today I swapped out the B54PRO-Z4E for the B54IR-Z4-S3 (again). I like the daytime image of the B54PRO more than the B54IR because of the better dynamic range and color palette, but at night the B54IR is a better choice. The noise from the sensor on the B54PRO negatively affects the image, and...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I like the Color4M-T for the front door. This morning in the dark, as the mail carrier delivered a package, the smart illumination worked great.

Review- EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-AS-S3 2.8mm turret fixed lens

For the most part, yes. However, the AS will be a bit better in low light. The main advantage of the ZE is its flexibility. It can adapt to more scenes, since the focal length can be changed.

    PTZ5A4M-25X IVS and Tracking ?

Ok, sounds like a factory reset is in order. Sometimes old settings get stuck on previous values.

    PTZ5A4M-25X IVS and Tracking ?

Just to be clear, is this where you are making the post-record settings, as Bigredfish suggested? This is what it looks like on my screen.

    PTZ5A4M-25X IVS and Tracking ?

This is the newest firmware that Andy lists on his site. I have the same camera as you have, and I tried this new firmware, but it wasn't working as well as the previous firmware I had been using. Andy has a special "animal tracking" firmware (by request only) for the camera (dated 3/17/25) that...

    PTZ5A4M-25X IVS and Tracking ?

In that case, the next thing to try might be a factory reset of the camera and then reload your settings. I had to do that with my PTZ to cure whatever was causing the problems that I couldn't seem to fix.

    PTZ5A4M-25X IVS and Tracking ?

Did you make the settings on the PTZ using Internet Explorer? With other browsers the settings sometimes will not hold, be reset to the default 10 seconds, or even be hidden.

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

A lot of us using the new cams have been frustrated by the integration of AI into the system. I believe I was the first to bring the issue of fog to the attention of other users, when I posted a sample of what was happening (when I first installed my new cams). As I said, I experience a lot of...

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

I get a lot of fog where I live, and the AI of the new cameras handles it differently than any previous camera. Here is an example using a Color4K-T180, B54PRO-Z4E, and Color4K-X camera. All clips are synchronized at the same time (11PM). The Color4K-T180 scene is only illuminated by an overhead...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I haven't noticed it with this firmware, but with the previous firmware I was noticing some "jerkiness." Tracked it down to the encoding settings. The bit rate and i-frame rate had been altered, and I didn't do it! I tried to change it back to the appropriate settings, yet it kept changing it...

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

Day/Night H.265 works fine When I used H.265 on those cameras I found that Compression H.265, Encoding Strategy "AI Coding", 15 frame rate, CBR, Bit rate 6144, I-frame interval 2 seconds works well.

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

I never use the default settings. Instead, I use manual mode. Here are the settings I use as a start on those cameras: Day AI SSA off Brightness 50 Contrast 50 Saturation 50 Sharpness 40 Gamma 50 Shutter 0-4ms Gain 0-45 Exp Compensation 50 3D NR 35 2D NR 29 Backlight WDR 20 (this is scene...

Ha ha, yeah I am probably the only person who carries a Sekonic whenever I go out. My photography friends will rave about how they can get a great shot without a meter, yet it takes them 100 exposures with bracketing that I can get in one shot.

You seem to have a similar photography background as I. Back when I was taking 20k-28k images a year, I spent a lot of time looking at histograms. Rather than moving everything to the center of the histogram, I think it is moving more to the right (hence the clipping of the highlights). Shadows...

I'm enjoying reading all of the comments and learning a lot at the same time. Thanks for all of the analysis and helpful suggestions. So after all this testing, I have a few comments about the B54PRO-Z4E and its predecessor (B54IR-Z4E-S3). These are in no particular order--just some things I...

For these tests I replaced the 4K-X 6mm camera on the garage with a T54PRO-ZE. The other camera is a B54PRO-Z4E. Andy asked if I could run some tests at the default setting for the cameras, so that is what I did for the first set of clips. Also, it was requested if I would try setting the...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I had the LED light on the garage (to the right) on for this test; however, once I walk past that first bush on the right, it is just the LEDs from the B54PRO-Z4E illuminating the scene. 18 sharpness is about the max for this camera and firmware. Once you get past 18 the noise becomes...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

When I was using the older firmware, 6ms seemed like a good compromise between 1/120 (8.33ms) and 1/250 (4ms.). After loading the firmware last night, I only had time for one test, so I left it at the previous settings. I’ll change it as I progress with further testing tonight.

Just finished loading the 12.17.25 firmware update to the B54PRO-Z4E. Uploading the firmware to the T54PRO-ZE now. First impression is that it looks good. Very dark outside tonight with no moon, yet the image seems to be a lot brighter with this first test. I'll plan on doing some tests tomorrow...

    Review - EmpireTech IPC-T54PRO-AS 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP WizColor

Definitely agree with you on the HLC on the B54OPRO-Z4E. Tested HLC-1 with the Color4M-T cameras, but for them the WDR seems to work better.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Yes, you are correct. When I first started mounting my 4K-X cams I used a PFA-130E box, and it worked great. However, when I decided to swap out the 4K-X cams from time-to-time, I realized that a square box would allow me to use both 3-hole and 4-hole mounting cams (PFA-121 and PFA-122). It sure...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Maybe someone can explain this to me, because I can't figure it out. All of my cameras look the same whether I am viewing them using SmartPSSLite or with a browser on my computer. (They have the same brightness characteristics.) However, the same is not true when I am viewing the B54PRO-Z4E and...

It's a 0-6 shutter with "43" 3D-NR and "37" 2D-NR. I have a center 3000 lumen light on my garage stay on at night. 3000 lumen motion sensor lights to the left and right of the garage light; so 9000 in total if they are all on.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I'm continuing to experiment with the B54PRO-Z4E as a LPR, until the next revision of Andy's firmware becomes available. The camera works well as a LPR. Take for instance the example of this truck driving down my driveway at 2:40am this morning. The camera picks it up, even though it is apparent...
