Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Wow, it took forever to upload the BIN files (913.1mb) to my two cameras. Now to get the ladder out and swap cameras again to test this out.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes, it is slower. I think the added sensor noise is a contributing factor in its detection, or lack of. For me the decreased IR range, when compared to the S3, is what made me switch back to the S3's.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

In the release notes for the firmware it says: optimized features = none, fixed bugs = none; but it does support triggering alarms for cats, dogs, cattle, sheep, horses, bears, deer, birds, monkeys, elephants, lions, and tigers. Ok

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

That explanation makes perfect sense. I wonder why other cameras that also have speakers, like the Color4M-T have the rotation option in their software, when they would also have the problem with the speaker facing upward and collecting water. Probably laziness when they were writing the...

How often do you move cameras?

Beautiful house and lighting. Looks like you picked the perfect spots for the cameras. Bugs shouldn't be too bad either, since the lighting is external. Now since the cameras are installed, you can rest and enjoy that pizza.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

Wow, that has me stumped. I looked at my other cameras, and there is a flip command in the GUI under camera settings. I'm not seeing the same command on either of my 180 cameras. Since I didn't see the image rotation screen under the GUI, I checked my NVR, and it again is missing for the 180...

PTZ5A4M 25X PTZ Delay when commanding.

Interesting... I put a stopwatch on it to see the response time of the PTZ5A4M-25x. Using the camera GUI, it took 1.26 seconds to respond, but in SmartPSSLite it took only 0.74 seconds, so you are correct.

PTZ5A4M 25X PTZ Delay when commanding.

I have a PTZ5A4M-25x and 49225, but I use a NVR with POE. Yes, the PTZ5 is much slower to respond. I don’t have an answer as to why it lags, but I assume it is normal behavior.

Need help figuring out what IP camera brand to go with.

These are all great suggestions those above have made. One additional suggestion, if I may… When you are planning your camera setup, model it in the way you would setup a sprinkler system for the grass around your home. Coverage of the sprinklers should overlap. The same with IP cameras. Also, a...

How often do you move cameras?

I am constantly swapping out cams (or adding more). It is less of a science (getting the best quality image) as it is a game (to see if I can improve it). Always fun to capture something amazing: wildlife, police arresting someone, an unexpected wild storm, etc.

    Review: Dahua IPC-HDW5442TM-AS (Loryta IPC-T5442TM-AS) (4MP Starlight+)

It depends, do you want/need smart IR? That is the most current update for the camera with smart IR. There is a newer firmware (2/27/25) that has no smart IR. I am running on my 6mm 5442-S2 (General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.26.R.231221) no smart IR.

    NVR Suggestion

I actually have both of the NVR's you listed above. For me, the S2 wasn't a noticeable upgrade from the 2EI. When making the purchase I assumed that updates in the future would be more likely with the S2, so that's what swayed me. For a power user with lots of 4K cams, the S2 probably makes the...

    Best Dash Camera 2024

Good advice, also it is important to reformat the memory card frequently. In the Viofo app, it has a reminder that can be set. I set mine for reformatting each month. Turning the cams on and off each time the engine is started may encourage corruption of data. I also have one of the Viofo...

Dahua SD49225XAN-HNR Auto Tracking Enabled Firmware

Have you installed the PTZ to see if the auto tracking works? If the auto tracking works, don't update the firmware. As you may be aware, Dahua removed auto tracking with newer firmware, so you have to be careful that you don't update and lose the tracking functionality. Also, settings for that...

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

I will add that what Wittaj stated is correct with several cameras. Besides the PTZ5A4M-25X which I use now, I also have a couple SD49225XA-HNR PTZ's that show as if they work with Safari and Chrome on a Mac, but the settings (like tracking duration) don't hold, and in fact; some settings on...

    PTZ5A4M-25X vs PTZ4M-25X

I had trouble making settings for the PTZ5A4M-25X in Safari on my Mac. Switched over to the Google Chrome browser and that works well. Just now tried logging into the camera in Safari, and it seems to have solved the problems I had been having. I am running OS Tahoe 23.6.1. I successfully drew...

Recommendation for Empire Tech 2-way Full Frigate Support?

I agree with Wittaj's recommendation. The 4M-T would be the wisest choice. I have replaced my 54IR's with 4M-T's, and while my T54Pro might make a good door stop, it pales in comparison to the 4M-T and 54IR.

    IPC-T54IR-AS-S3 vs IPC-B54IR-ZE-S3 - IR night performance

Sounds good. The bullets are great, if you don't mind the appearance, compared to the turrets. I just ordered a B54IR-ZE-S3 yesterday, as I assume that model of camera will start to disappear soon. Nothing beats the B54IR-Z4E-S3 for nighttime illumination, but it would be a bit long where I need...

    IPC-T54IR-AS-S3 vs IPC-B54IR-ZE-S3 - IR night performance

Yes, the AS is better at night than the ZE, but only slightly. However, there is a significant difference between the bullet and turret at night, since the bullet has much stronger IR and does not have the center hotspot of IR like the turret. One thing I dislike about the T54IR-AS-S3 is the...

IPC T54IR-ZE-S3 initial setup for mobile and desktop

That's definitely not the experience I have had. Just replaced another T54IR-ZE-S3 with a Color4M-T yesterday. Here are a couple screenshots off my NVR. The T54IR of course is a zoom, and the Color4M-T is 3.6mm, but you can still see where the Color4M-T looks a lot better at night and it is even...

IPC T54IR-ZE-S3 initial setup for mobile and desktop

Looks like you need more light than what is provided by the T54IR-ZE-S3 for the scene. The IR of the IPC T54IR-ZE-S3 is weak and has a hotspot in the center, which may be the cause of detection/non-detection errors at night. I had the same problem in dark areas until I replaced three T54IR-ZE-S3...

Firmware for IPC‑Color4K‑T180 now I have a non working camera; help!

Sounds like you use a PC, so I am no hope there since I use a Macintosh, but last week I was having trouble accessing a camera to make changes, which had previously never happened before. I finally figured out that after updating the Mac to the newest Tahoe OS that it had somehow made changes to...

Firmware for IPC‑Color4K‑T180 now I have a non working camera; help!

Yes, I use IVS on both of them and have never had an incident where either has been tripped by accident, and I have been using them for years. The only thing I dislike about the IVS on the T-180 is that it is most sensitive in the middle of the image. IVS on the sides will hardly ever set off a...

    T54PRO-ZE vs IPC-Color4M-TZ

Yes, the S3 has a much better image, but the 4M-T has the speaker that works great. That's why I don't use the S3 there. The best speaker of all-time is the one in the Dahua N55DU82. Only problem is that it is worse than both the S3, S2, and 4M-T at night. In the daytime the image is probably...
