Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

I have the download, but haven't got around to installing the models and testing yet. One observation is that with Mike's model (I think it was bi general) in the models folder, BI was using +20% CPU, even though (unless I made some daft config error) the AI shouldn't have been doing a thing...

Rapid switching between IR and Color

Thanks all. PI will have to familiarize myself with the exact settings again. I do have the new GUI. I'm definitely not using auto settings in general, EG for exposure times, but I did find auto day / night switching worked well for my needs, except for the issue described in this thread.

Rapid switching between IR and Color

Do these Dahuas support autoswitching between day / night profiles? I think the reason it's in auto not forced is so it switches between day / night shutter values automatically (same time it goes Color <> BW).

Rapid switching between IR and Color

This is on a B54IR model, telephoto, I forget the exact model. The IR switching sensitivity is set quite high, e.g it's switches to IR early in the evening and back to color late in the morning. Which is fine in this case, I would rather it's spent more time in black and white, than staying in...

Wasn't aware of that, thanks - I will give it a go.

Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

The trouble I am having is that my BI install is heavily firewalled, and does not have open access to the internet, so the model download in the AI tab is going to fail. Unless it opens in a browser for the download and I can copy / paste to another machine to download? I suspected BI downloaded...

Blue Iris Version 6.0.1.24 Now Supports Custom Models

I've just tried bi-general-v5.onnx, and had this issue when using the Testing > Analyse with AI option: However, BI is reporting v6.0.1.21, even though I'm sure I ran the update package with filename blueirisupdate_64_60125.exe, which looks to me like it should be v6.0.1.25 :idk:. Not sure if...

    Nube questions on Blue Iris

Append &maximize=1 to the UI3 URL in your browser. This will hide the UI3 controls, just leaving the cameras. The only thing remaining is to fullscreen your actual browser window - usually can be done with F11, if you need it to automatically fullscreen on startup for some reason, you may be...

    Reducing CPU Usage

Windows does have a lot of bloat, but I struggle to accept that a 'healthy' clean install of Windows would use 20% CPU doing nothing. It's interesting.

    Reducing CPU Usage

So you're saying there is still 20+% CPU use AFTER all cameras are disabled?

No. I will test it out. I wasn't aware Handbrake could read BVR, thanks.

    Reducing CPU Usage

H265 has a higher compression, which gives allows for lower bit rates, but this = more compute needed to decode the stream. Shouldn't be causing all that issue but tru changing to H264 for now anyway. Can you post another picture of your Status window, specifically including the MP/s figure...

Tool to convert BVR to MP4

I do usually. Just wondered if there was an alternative, for situations like: A) avoiding extra server load / offloading the conversion to another system. B) downloading a few BVRs and then only converting if and when needed. It's not a particularly important requirement, but I wondered if...

Tool to convert BVR to MP4

Is there a tool in existence which will convert a BVR to standard .mp4 files? I found this: GitHub - Botts85/bvr2mp4: Convert proprietary Blue Iris AVC .bvr files to .mp4 files, but it looks a little rough and states itself that it does not preserve audio. The use case for this is to be able to...

    Nube questions on Blue Iris

I suppose for multiple monitors, you could run two instances of Ui3 (in two browser windows), with different cameras or camera groups configured on each, and then move these browser windows to the desired monitor.

    Nube questions on Blue Iris

Remote monitoring (remote as in on another PC) of cameras on a Blue Iris installation is usually done through the Blue Iris Web interface, Ui3, which can be accessed through a browser on another PC (or mobile device).

iDS-TCM403-BI(G) ANPR camera with latest firmware has no menu option to set HTTP listening! SOS!

Am I right in thinking you are struggling to get the camera to send HTTP requests at all? In which case, what are you going to do with your parsing code, if you havent got the camera working as you want yet? :idk: :)

iDS-TCM403-BI(G) ANPR camera with latest firmware has no menu option to set HTTP listening! SOS!

I don't have any equipment with the latest Hikvision firmware, but have you tested this out? I know that section is called ISAPI, but those parameters look awfully like some sort of "HTTP listening" setup to me...

iDS-TCM403-BI(G) ANPR camera with latest firmware has no menu option to set HTTP listening! SOS!

What is your firmware version? Did you check the specs for Http listening support (I cannot remember if Hikvjsiin mention this in the specs usually...) Do you have any screenshota of the Web UI?

    Blue Iris CPU: Utilization, Specs.

That sounds encouraging regarding my initial thought to increase available cores (at the expense of a little clock) - with more cores available I will likely chuck a couple more at BI for good measure - got more available anyway so why not. Not to mention benefits for other VM's. 100% agree...

    Blue Iris CPU: Utilization, Specs.

Or maybe not. I tested, and when starting a single, 5MP stream to UI3 from the timeline, utilization increases across all 4 cores, not just one...

    Blue Iris CPU: Utilization, Specs.

One assumes that single core clock speed is needed for processing a single hi-res feed, such as streaming to Ui3 in 4k, whereas more cores are useful for scaling BI to many cameras. Is this accurate?

    Blue Iris CPU: Utilization, Specs.

No doubt something that has been asked many times before. What is more important for BI, CPU clock speed or CPU cores? I understand that BI can make good use of multiple cores, but what is the minimum required single-core clock for streaming to UI3 etc etc without issues? Currently, I have a...

    Multiple Remote Location IPCams Setup

Tailscale is reportedly a good option if you want to avoid some of the intricacies of manually configuring VPN tunnels.

    Multiple Remote Location IPCams Setup

I don't think your can use NordVPN for this. NordVPN and similar services are for tunnelling traffic out to the Internet. Not routing between your equipment. You will need either a VPN server at your HQ, which you camera poles dial into, or a server somewhere else which both your camera poles...

    UI3 Camera Layout options.

In UI3, we have some useful Dynamic Group layout functionality, which is great for optimizing the layout of the cameras. However, in some situations, I would prefer to have a "rigid" grid layout, and if a cameras aspect ratio doesn't quite fit, blank space occurs around that specific camera...

Importance of Sensor Size for LPR

Was this a success? Any issues? I assume you used some kind of "exterior grade" CAT6 - was it true armoured CAT6, or just exterior stuff? Been thinking about some similar possible cable routes in my driveway area.

    Multiple Remote Location IPCams Setup

I'll agree with that one. One should also consider that using a direct IPv6 connection is still unencrypted - which would be acceptable to some, but something to avoid for me :thumb: Also services like Shodan have clever ways of attempting to discover hosts in the IPv6 space, which is another...
