    I'm guessing this model may be a 'Value Series' one, without smart features. I think you are correct. That's a pity. And the camera appears to be using the latest firmware, E10 series. Just a thought - do you have this menu? If VCA resource is set to Monitoring, there are no Smart Events.

    If the camera is on the same LAN as the PC that SADP is running on, it will find all Hikvision devices automatically and provide a variety of information about them. Of interest will be the version of firmware shown in the 'Software Version' column against your camera.

    It sounds like you erased the camera configuration, which would set it back to 'inactive' which then allows the NVR to 'activate' the camera using either it's own admin password, or the password defined in the NVR configuration to be used for activating cameras.

    I just realised - I'd made the assumption that the reformat suggestion was about dealing with the SMART data showing reallocated sectors, as opposed to some logical inconsistency in the file structures on the HDD causing the playback issues. Dohh!

    sdb has a non-zero reallocated sector count (52). Not that high - but worth a periodic check to see if it grows over time.
