Installing an Axis speaker to run the door checkers off

I haven't really explored it much as I don't really need two way talk. I can use MIcroSIP to talk through the speaker but I haven't spent enough time to figure out how to get the audio back to me from it.

    Help with BI server Re-build

Onboard SATA is fine IMO. You won't be maxing out read/write capability anyway. I wouldn't add one until you find you need it when you run out of SATA ports on the MB.

+1 to this but would be a significant learning curve for someone who has never used Proxmox or Linux in general.

    Help with BI server Re-build

I agree with the others. Just install Win 11 fresh. Export your BI settings first from the old installation, deactivate BI on old installation, install Win 11 on new system, import your settings. Done. Another thing, you can use pcpartpicker.com to customize what you are looking for hardware...

    PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

No. What are you looking for? The GUI? We may want to start another thread so we don't junk this one up. But here is the explore page. All tracked objects are listed. I can also type in what I'm looking for at the top of search bar (e.g. red car driving down the road) and it will find that...

    PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

I got the $600 one (235HX). Yeah, it can run on a potato assuming you have a discrete GPU to use instead. People run it on RPi, Jetson, Coral, etc..

    PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

I’m in the process of moving to Frigate and letting that do the object tracking instead of crappy Dahua firmware.. Just bought an Ultra MS-02 from Minisforum and have been playing around with it for a few weeks. What a god damn powerhouse of object tracking and detection when used with Frigate...

Latest highly-stable update, any chance this can mean something?

I've been running various flavors of Linux since the late 90s and using Docker for about 10 years. Frigate is still a challenge. It's gotten easier since they have moved some stuff to a GUI but a lot of it is still hand editing a .yaml file for setup.

Latest highly-stable update, any chance this can mean something?

I’ve been holding off installing any of the “stable” builds. They seem buggier than normal. Im moving my home and father’s house to Frigate. After playing with it a couple weeks, I like it. I just can’t move my business to it as it lacks some of the functionality I need that BI provides. But...

Installing an Axis speaker to run the door checkers off

In the Alert Tab for the specific camera, hit the "On Alert" button. There you can add actions when alerts are created. In the Axis speaker, you can create links to specific audio files that you upload to the speaker and you can then trigger the speaker via the link. So I just input the link...

My EmpireTech cameras do not support NTP server setting via DHCP option 42, do other brands allow this?

This is the answer. OP needs to host DNS and then hardcode the domain name of the NTP server in each camera. It's a bit of work to setup, but then it's easy in the future to change the IP address of the NTP server in the DNS host file.

    6.0.3.1 - Broke my webserver

Just another reason why BI should not be exposed to the internet and a vpn should be used instead… Ken is not a cyber security expert.

    6.0.3.1 - Broke my webserver

Yeah, I just know how buggy BI is. No way I would expose that program to the wilds of the internet. I get what you are saying, but BI isn't open source either. You could roll your own Wireguard VPN which is exactly what Tailscale is with a GUI on top of it.

    6.0.3.1 - Broke my webserver

But you don't have to expose the BI web server to the internet if you are using either of those. It's hidden behind the VPN. You just have to connect to the VPN first via whatever client you are using (e.g. phone, tablet, etc..) to access the service. Maybe I'm not understanding what you are...

Installing an Axis speaker to run the door checkers off

I got it up and installed this morning. Not really very exciting to look at like cameras are. I installed a little grab handle above it in case I need to work on it in the future with no lift. Metal roofs are slippery and there are no hand grabs where that thing is located. Overall I'm...

BI 6.0.2.7 - very odd alert behavior

I had the same thing happen on his current stable. I emailed Ken about it and he had no clue and had never seen it. I ended up deleting the camera and re-adding it and it hasn’t happened again. Needless to say, there are bugs even in his stable as far as AI is concerned.

Installing an Axis speaker to run the door checkers off

I get transients and bums on the back of my commercial property no matter how many fences, "No Trespassing/You are under Surveillance" signs, lights, and cameras I install. Had one last Saturday night checking my back entrance door: I have BI sending a "You are trespassing" audio clip when...

Blue Iris Updates - Official Thread

This thread should really be locked for member posting in all honestly. Really wish Ken can figure out a way to not suspend recording during db rebuild/compact. I lose ~2 minutes of recording every day from 4:00am to 4:02am. Hope nothing important happens during those 2 minutes...

Two way talk on the 4k-x?

Curious if anyone has gotten two way talk working with this camera. Trying to get BI to play an audio file to the camera speaker when BI is alerted but I can't get it going. Talking with Ken back and forth and he seems to think two way talk isn't supported on this camera. However on Andy's...

Using a mask for motion detection but have AI analyze entire scene?

This is seemed to have fixed it. I changed timing to 750ms and then went with 2 pre-trigger frames and 2 post trigger frames. My actual trigger is only 3 seconds long so 4 frames x 750ms = 3 seconds. Seems to be working like a champ!
