New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I completely agree. I don't think I have ever answered the doorbell through my phone. I'm looking into using a Shelly relay at my door chime to trigger my Hubitat and send a Pushover notification. If I can get it to include a snapshot from the 54IR above it, that would be even better.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yea, the 54IR is going to stay there. I considered that route, as well. Go back to a dumb doorbell and come up with a way to receive triggers when someone pushes the doorbell. I previously had modified a Zwave door sensor and attached it to my doorbell chime. When the "door" would close, I...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I just set up Teleport and it was as easy as generating a link, emailing it to myself, and then clicking a couple buttons on my phone to accept. Would have taken longer, but I already had Wifiman installed on my phone. I disconnected from Wifi and tried connecting to the BI Web UI link on my...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Actually, it looks like my Unifi Teleport will work similarly to Tailscale. I'll see if I can get that set up and working.

    Yea? I'll look into it.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Unfortunately when I switched to fiber I didn't know they use CGNAT, which kills my ability to use a VPN. I just need to call and order a static IP, I think it's $10 per month. I've been messing around with the doorbell in BI and narrowed down which trigger is for the button, so I think I can...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

What about Pushover? Can I do anything with that? My guess is I wouldn't be able to use it for the button press, only motion alerts.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Ok, I'll need to look into Home Assistant, then. I use Hubitat for all of my home automation, but do have a SFF PC running HA for programming some project ESP32s with ESPHome. I don't much care about Neighbors, there's never anything fun on there.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

How is everyone using this as a Ring replacement with BI? It just dawned on me that my camera network that this would be plugged into doesn't touch the internet, so the Reolink app won't work...

Total moron destroyed my garage door

My late wife, bless her heart, was leaving one morning and had our infant daughter with her. Her car was in the garage, door open, running with our daughter in the back. My wife, meaning well, decided to lower the garage door a few feet "to make it harder for someone to take the car with our...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I saw that, too, but literally saw a listing on Amazon with the option of white or black. I clicked back on it, and now it's only the black one.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Well, now the white isn't showing when I search, so that may answer the question for me.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I considered grabbing both and returning one; I don't have any issues with returns to Amazon.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yea, there's not much I can do with how narrow the porch is. I dabbled with the lower one in corridor mode, but obviously opted out for some reason.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

That's this one. ;) With the views I currently have I'm undecided on if the additional vertical FOV is worth $15, but I also see a lot of yard with the wider FOV. I will be moving the doorbell to the trim next to the brick mold, for ease of running cabling, so that may show more siding unless...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I am looking to finally convert over from my Ring doorbell. Is there any reason to go with the Reolink in a 4:3 ratio over the 3:4? I don't know why the color dictates the ratio, but black v white is not an issue. I thought maybe the taller ratio would be more ideal given how narrow my front...

    It's not just Costco

Moving products is their MO and is why everything on pallets. Inventory can be moved by one person, and now you need to go look for it. While looking, you stumble across something else you didn't need, but buy anyways, and all they had to do was move the Pirate's Booty two aisles over.

    It's not just Costco

Oh, and I forgot about the time I was shopping and a cart was a little in the way. I scooted it to the side so I could get past. The lady lost her shit. EXCUSE ME!? COULD YOU NOT ASK ME TO MOVE MY CART??!! I told her to not leave it in the way, and to have a nice day.

Someone’s been spending too much time here

The comments on the video are pretty funny to read. A lot of ignorance, but still funny. I'd like to see @tech101 's video of this guy while he was sitting there.

Is there an Indoor Autotracking Dome PTZ model available?

Yea, the PTZ425DB-AT with this bracket. I remember seeing pictures with it installed, but I can't find them. https://empiretech01.com/products/empiretech-pfb5310c-in-ceiling-mount-bracket

    It's not just Costco

I have Costco, Sam's, and BJ's memberships. If Costco didn't have some specific things I go there for, I would drop it. Unfortunately they all have the things that they do better or only they have. At least Sam's allows you to scan and check out in the app. Costco check out is the worst thing...

Is there an Indoor Autotracking Dome PTZ model available?

The mini-PTZ could be usable inside, even though it is on the wrong sensor. If you wanted it ceiling mounted, Andy has a trim ring that allows it to be recessed so basically just the dome is exposed.

I can't fucking stand it. People have no common sense or courtesy at that store.

Someone’s been spending too much time here

Not really. They all have a purpose and specific job. Yes, there may be some overlap in FOV and coverage, but I doubt there is much "redundancy" in the images each captures.

Camera placement help with security lights already installed please (pics included)

It might, until something happens and you realize you have a hole in your coverage and missed something. Also having cameras dedicated to specific jobs and FOVs and not "one camera to see them all" will increase your camera count. I am 2750sqft with a 1/3 acre lot and I have somewhere between...

    Who knows ESP-32?

I considered some hot glue, as well. With the integrated board, I need to solder the headers on either way, so it's actually less work to solder the wires instead. Unfortunately needed pins aren't always neighbors, so I can't just solder on connectors. As of now, the only connections I will...

    Who knows ESP-32?

When you finally get your board and hardware wired, and your project is ready to use somewhere, how do you handle header connections? Do you just let them ride and hope they stay connected to the header pins?

    Who knows ESP-32?

Well, after finding 100 different button press sequences that others claim should work with this thing, I finally got it to show as online. What secret handshake of button presses was required? None. Absolutely none. I just had to remove the IO0/GND jumper...

    Who knows ESP-32?

This is the USB adapter I am using. From what I have found, I have the dip switches set correctly. If this wasn't communicating to the board, then nothing would work, and the install would fail, right? https://a.co/d/4QI1w9D
