    US Elections (& Politics) :)

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

This is another video that misstates the facts. Its audio says about California AB 1421 "The bill...directs the California transportation commission to design a per-mile driving tax program." It does no such thing. It says AB 1421 requires a full implementation plan by 2027. Wrong again, the...

More crap from the media. Not the same measurement, but he math can't possibly add up. And another gem: The article text says he rammed an ICE vehicle. Not an agent. Pretty much every political post or article now is propaganda, from both left and right media. JUST IN: 92% of likely...

Is this video talking about a different California bill? I can't find any resemblance between what the video says about the bill, and what the bill says. The video says that the bill will add a 6 to 9 cent per mile tax and require realtime tracking of vehicles. The bill text says it extends...

Critical Linux Warning: 800,000 Devices Are EXPOSED

The video above says there are over a billion devices running on linux. The warning in post #1 says 800,000 devices are exposed. That would mean that less than one out of 1,250 is exposed. Pretty low odds, and "exposed" doesn't mean compromised or hacked. But which 800,000 devices are in the...

Critical Linux Warning: 800,000 Devices Are EXPOSED

I find this video and other articles I've found about the same problem to be sorely lacking and not understandable for anybody but those who know linux very well. I'm temped to say linux nerds only. My main questions are (1) Does it apply to linux running on a PC?, and (2) Does it apply to...

This was really eye opening for me. A couple of years ago I was on Aetna's medicare part D plan, and got started on a really expensive prescription drug. Aetna required that the prescription came from CVS. I wasn't aware until this video that Aetna and CVS are the same company. This video...

    Money & Economics

Me too. It would be easy to say that this recent big jump in gold/silver prices was just catching up from the many years of price suppression. With the prices going up this much, this fast, I can't help thinking there's something big coming. I'm not smart enough to know what it is. With...

    The official "WTF" thread

I'm infuriated by all of the online sites and in-store checkouts automatically adding a tip, often defaulting to 20% or more. If you don't carefully read all of the individual items you might be paying a lot more than you intended. It's as bad as trying to buy something from amazon without...

My comment about using caution to compare gold prices in other countries was prompted by this post, which has a couple of very big holes in it: China imposes a 13% VAT on gold purchases. There is a mechanism for it to be refunded when the gold is not purchased for retail sale. This next...

You have to be careful comparing gold prices at different country exchanges. Some of the quotes include the country's VAT.

    Climate Change

The climate is definitely changing! Until 2 years ago, December was the coldest month where I live, with a bunch of days below zero, and a couple down to -20 overnight (with no camera failures, I'll add). Two Decembers ago we never went to zero, and this last one never went below 20. No snow...

    Money & Economics

In the context of gold above $5,000 an ounce, when a 1 oz coin that you can easily hold in your hand is equivalent to 5,000 dollars, what does that say about the value of a dollar? Perhaps a more honest way to think about it is that a dollar is worth 1/5000 of an ounce of gold. For me, that...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

I don't think that is the issue with the general population. It's not WHY they are dead, but rather SHOULD THEY HAVE BEEN SHOT? You, I detect, are on the yes they should have been shot side of it. There are a lot of people on the no, they should't have been shot side, and they're not all...

Over the long term the charts show that dollar goes up and down. But what is it being measured against? Other currencies that go up and down. In reality, they're all just taking their turns going down. The charts might say: Dollar up Dollar down Dollar up Dollar down The reality is: Other...

Comparing the IL to the S3

I'm trying to find something to make the detection better. For instance, wittaj suggested in another thread that IVS works better if snapshot is turned on, even if there's no SD card. I tried that to no avail. With so many different things to try I'm thinking it will take a few months, plus...

That's not the issue. They were interfering. The issue is the penalty that was meted out.

Comparing the IL to the S3

As a total surprise, I'm finding that the 541R-S3 is sometimes just as bad as the -IL at IVS triggering. With the side-by-side cameras I'm often seeing cases where the S3 triggers and the IL doesn't, and where the IL triggers and the S3 doesn't. This applies to humans and animals, there are...

It depends on the individual situation. Somebody who has no tax without the deduction gets no benefit from it. In my case, for tax year 2025 we get the full 12k reduction of our taxable income, lowering the tax. This deduction has absolutely nothing to do with social security.
