Hikvision camera selection

I really appreciate all the support you are giving me.
I'm not familiar with this topic and something vendors make the stuff really difficult for the end user.

After all these information probably che M-series Is good enough for my needs.
I suppose also the price difference between the two models is relevant and saving money on the NVR give me the possibility to put them on the camera side

I will review then the camera selection, probably I'll share here some more doubt once I work on that

Thanks in the meantime
Really appreciated

Hello,
I've some more questions about the camera light.
In some model I see mentioned additional light like the one you suggested
Others have mentioned 4 light mode like the DS-2CD2343G2-LI(2U) or smart supplement light live the DS-2CD2346G2H-I(U)

Do you know which are the differences between them?

I'm just reflecting on the fact that because the camera will be in the farm could be useful having a camera with the light to better see what's happening if some notifications is raised

Thanks
Regards

Not sure what it means by four light modes. As far as I know, there are two illumination modes. White light or IR. These two are the types of actual lighting. When you mention mode then here is what I think off.....

Day mode (Off) - No lights are turn on from the camera itself. So no IR or white light. The camera acts like it is daytime meaning that it is in color 24 hours a day or until you change the mode to something else.
Night mode (On) - The lights on the camera are manually set to be on until you change it. So basically a manually on.
Auto - Camera would use a sensor to determine if it is bright enough. If not then it would turn on the lights on the camera.
Hybrid illumination - This is only for cameras with both white light and IR. Camera is in IR mode at night so black and white video. When the camera is triggered by a detection then the white light comes on which then the video is in color. Once the object that triggered the detection is not there anymore then it will go back into IR mode. Note that if you set this mode but do not set up a detection then it will not work. Would only be in IR mode. This requires a detection to be set up to "trigger" the light to come on.

it make sense. to have this there should be the while light in the camera.
but for example the DS-2CD2T46G2-2I/4I that mention the Smart Supplement Light Yes, i'm not sure where it is taken. maybe there is different model that has the white light

do you have any experince having the white light enabled in the night to see clear image? they are usable or it makes some aterfacts that prevent having a clear image/video recording?

thanks

Smart supplemental light is just the camera being able to raise and lower the camera's light intensity automatically. So this could apply to both the IR or white light. I would usually have this setting on. The theory is if you set the light at a certain intensity.... If the person is close to the camera then the light will wash out the person's face. If the person is farther away the the light shining on them will allow you to see them better.

As far as having the white light on at night.... I have tried having the white light on. Note that in the spec sheet of the camera it would list the max distance for the light itself. This spec is somewhat misleading due to the perceived amount of light at a certain distance. So lets say the specs show the light will go up to 98 feet. This doesn't mean that you would be able to see clearly an object at that distance. You would only be able to notice something there. As far as the details available then that is a different story. At that distance in a pitch black area and only relying on the white light then I would say you won't be able to see much at all except for a blur. Only when the object comes closer to the camera would you be able to get more details.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Hello,
Thanks
Actually most of the cameras I will use will observe no more than 10/20 meter at maximum
So if the white light is powerful enough to see more details when a subject come closer to the camera, I suppose should be in the range of my installation

I'm just trying to understand if this feature is something that can help me in case of needs or if it is something totally unuseful for my installation

Another point I'm thinking to is about the angle adjustment and the image rotation.
In some case I need to install the camera on the house wall which is on a narrow corridor
Because the installation will be on the wall and because some turret camera can't tilt of 90° while bullet camera have, I suppose it is better to move on the bullet version which allows tilt of 90°

Thanks

I would say the turrets are easier to rotate. Turrets basically have two parts. We have the mounting bracket and then the camera (eyeball) itself. There is a locking screw to lock down the position. This is like a "ball and socket". So where usually a bullet would have three screws needed to adjust the position. One on the base of the camera for the tilt. Second in the middle as for adjusting direction. Third on the back of the camera portion for clockwise/counterclockwise adjustment. Turrets on the other hand is just one screw. Just loosen it and then move the "eyeball" in whatever direction you want.

Ok but if I've a narrow long corridor and the camera will be mounted on the wall close to the long side I need to have a camera able to tilt of 90° to see all the corridor, otherwise the image will go outside the corridor without covering all the length.
The first on I've is about 8mt the second one 20mt, both with width roughly of 1mt

Not sure if turret is the best choice. Ok that is easier to mount and adjust probably but I'm more interested in having the coverage I need. Finally the installation is somethin done at once, so not a big problem if need to do some more thing to adjust :)

Hello,
Today I asked to my reseller in Italy a quotation for some items like the nvr DS-7616NI-M2 and the camera DS-2CD2343G2-I(U) but they said me that they are not available
Basically the model the have available are the colorvu for the camera and the mix for the nvr which are in 2026 pro catalogue

Do you know it it is really true this? Maybe who are available this is because of some stock?

Thanks
