AI Good and Bad

An different article that builds on Matt Shumer's. Another good read, and one of its comments brings up a good counterpoint: "Sorry but this reads like insider fluff designed to boost stock prices." Just a possibility to be aware of. A big unanswered question of mine is why do we hear nothing from the greenies about the data centers throwing massive amounts of carbon and heat into the atmosphere? There's something suspicious going on behind the scenes here, I'm just not smart enough to know what it is.

The link above doesn't work for me, but I wonder if it might be the same article I was thinking about posting here.? This article IMO is a very good read. It's long, and I don't have a sense for what is and isn't correct. Whatever the case, it's full of things to think about. What it brings up might not affect the old coots so much, but the whole world might turn into something not recognizable for the kids and grandkids. Things like this take me back to Planet of the Apes.

Something Big Is Happening

Article was very good, and AI ability to make "slope" software is amazing. Challenge will be software maintenance.

From what i can tell, those who are mastering the use of AI and know how to tell when it hallucinate are able to do great things with it.

AI will dramatically change our world.

Suspect software engineers who have mastered AI will be in big demand.

Entry level white collar jobs imho will be reduced

Welp, it looks like the Government is just going to take it.

Anthropic .. sounds like 2 points it is not wanting to yield on

1) Do not use Anthropic for massive domestic surveillance
2) Do not use Anthropic for lethal autonomous weapons which attack people ( their tech is immature right now )
