AI services are now BUILT-IN! And extremely fast on capable hardware. No more requirement to install or rely on external software for this. As this was such a major update, it is currently “beta” by installing from the Check for News and Updates button under “another previous update”.

Components are now initialized “as needed” so there may be an initial delay on first inferences. Also be mindful of memory usage on slower systems as a backlog of requests can cause memory spikes. Manage the number of concurrent requests with the “max connects” setting on Settings/AI.

Very odd naming scheme: 6.0.1 has been out for about 6 days now (12/10/2025), but this seems to be 6.0.1.0, released today (12/16/2025), and has none of the update notes (AI bulit-in, etc..) shown above when viewed in the changelog link. I'll hold out for another couple of days personally.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, no @MikeLud custom models here (ipcam-dark, ipcam-animal, ipcam-combined, ipcam-general)? Ugh...like starting over from scratch with AI.

I am trying to upgrade to 6.0.1 and it is not showing available, I even download the upgrade file from Blue Iris's web site and it is still 6.0.0.1. How did you upgrade?
In the first thread it says this

it is currently “beta” by installing from the Check for News and Updates button under “another previous update”.Screenshot 2025-12-16 234301.png

While a lot of users will appreciate built in AI, I've now got Docker host VMs on both my Proxmox servers each with RTX3060 gpus passed through to the Docker host for CPAI containers and other containers that benefit from GPU acceleration.

This works well and without having space/slots for another GPU re-assigning it to the BI VM would impact those other containerised services. Hopefully the older API method of accessing AI won't go away anytime soon but it looks like I'll need to dig into how integrated the BI AI service is in case that happens to see if I can a shim it.
