So a random ad popped up in my feed. I was wondering if Dahua or other company has this built into their systems yet?

This would be very helpful for daily store visitors etc.

Thank you

Below is example of FULL Video Meta Data on Dahua 5442-Z4E with Dahua 5xxx-EI NVR (pro camera & NVR model)..
It does humans, faces, motor vehicles (with plates) and non motor vehicles, each with full set of attributes which are searchable...

Dahua have also AcuPick 2.0 which is simplified version Video Meta Data, but You can also search humans / cars by using image (picture).
So if you have some specific person on one cam, by doing simple click you can display all footage from other cams with similar looking persons or vehicles...

Similar function to Video Meta Data is on HIK DeepInMind cams (Multi Object Type Detection).. Unifi have AI key which adds similar features to unifi cams / NVRs...

Excellent response to the OP questions & queries.

So, this is AI on the NVR? The 5216-16P-4KS2E?

In our case, with that older NVR, the AI is being done by the camera. The NVR can't report what the camera can't send it.
So for instance thats a 5442 Z4 S3 bullet that has VMD. So the NVR can report on it.
Other cameras without VMD can report more limited things like IVS based on the camera capabilities.

So, cameras with built in AI can pass the VMD attributes onto the NVR?

Is that page with the snapshots and video clip part of the NVR software or part of Smart PSS lite? And where do the snapshots get stored, on the NVR hard drive?

No, cameras equipped with VMD can pass those items.
VMD, IVS, Face Detection are all examples of "AI" but are quite specific separate functions
That is an NVR screen. Under AI search.
Yes snapshots are stored along with the video on the NVR

Would be cool if it could display the intelligence of the person visible on the camera

5xxx NVR can display last 5 AI events (so also Video Meta Data) from all camera as right AI panel on HDMI or web live view (from one or many cams)...

DMSS & SmartPSS don't support this feature (they don't understands more advanced AI events - display them the same way as IVS or SMD)...

HDMI example (normal UI):

web live view (Next gen GUI):
