Hikvision DS-2CD2347 ColorVu camera. I'm having some issues with getting the LED supplemental light to come on/off as I want it to. My question is in regards to the settings in Image> Display Settings menu. Under the section <Day/Night Switch> there are two settings options: Day/Night Switch and Smart Supplemental Light. What should these settings be for normal LED supplemental light to on at night and off during the day?

I realize there are other detailed LED light settings in System>External Device.
 
I dont own that one but if its anything similar to the Dahua version, I would think Smart Supplemental Light

Day/Night Switch

Day/night switch here is realized by control of IR cut-off filter. Select the day/night switch mode from the drop-down list. Day, night, auto, scheduled-switch, and triggered by alarm input are selectable.

Day: the camera stays at day mode.

Night: the camera stays at night mode.

Auto: the camera switches between the day mode and the night mode according to the illumination automatically. The sensitivity ranges from 0 to 7, the higher the value is, the easier the mode switches. The filtering time refers to the time interval between the day/night switch. You can set it from 5s to 120s.

Scheduled-Switch: Set the start time and the end time to define the duration for day/night mode.

Triggered by Alarm Input: The switch is triggered by alarm input, and you can set the triggering status to day or night.

Smart Supplement Light gives user an option to turn ON/OFF the supplement light.

Set the supplement light to ON, and Auto and Manual are selectable for light mode. Select AUTO, and the supplement light changes according to the actual luminance. E.g., if the current scene is bright enough, then the supplement light adjusts itself to lower power; and if the scene is not bright enough, the light adjusts itself to higher power.

Select Manual, and you can adjust the supplement by adjusting the distance. E.g., If the object is near the camera, the device adjusts the supplement light to lower power, and the light is in higher power if the object is far away.

Please see my OP. The ONLY choices are Day or Night, and then a second drop down menu that states ON or OFF. No auto, scheduled, triggered, etc. There are some LED options in another section, but I'm specifically asking about the ones in Image> Display Settings menu section.

I can understand the possibility of if Night is selected then the camera stays in night mode or vice versa, but then what is the ON/Off setting function and how does it affect the selected Day/Night setting? How do these two drop down menus function with each other?
 
The exact settings available vary with the specific model of DS-2CD2347x camera and also the firmware version installed.
What's the model number, as seen on the System Settings menu in the web GUI and also the System Version Property at the bottom of that menu?
 
The model number shown in the System Settings may be a proprietary rebranded number used by a dealer for their installs. It is HNC344-XD/LU. I know the camera is a DS-2CD2347GI-LU.

I had one of these lying around, destined for my local Men's Shed.
Not the -U model which is audio, and a slightly newer firmware version V5.6.6 build 210625
I configured and tested it for the white LEDs to come on in low illumination, not a facility I'd normally use.
This seemed to work OK.

Thank you for the settings. I'll try those and report back.

I actually have 2 of these cameras in use. I reset both cameras back to the factory default settings and last night one of them cycled the Supplemental LED fine. The other never came on. I found this weird and wonder if this feature of the camera is damaged. This camera is still usable because there is a floodlight illuminating most of the area, but was even better when the supplemental light was working.

You've probably done this already, but if not -
You can see if the white LEDs are working as they should come on for a few seconds when the camera is powered on. Also, you should be able to see them activate when selected in linkage settings to be triggered on an event.
Are both cameras using the same firmware version?
 
I know the LED is functioning, or at least it was a couple of days ago when I started this project. I'll verify.

No, the cameras are not using the same firmware version.

I thought about the adjacent floodlight and played around with the sensitivity setting last night but different settings did not produce results. It's just funny that this camera's supplemental light was functioning just fine until a couple of months ago so there is something I am missing.

I just put your settings into the camera so we will see tonight. Your screenshots were exactly the info I needed!!!

Did a cold reboot removing POE power and reapplying and I think problem solved. The issue of the adjacent floodlight was also an issue. It would not allow the LED to activate on Auto, and I could not get the sensitivity adjustment to compensate. By changing from Auto activation to Scheduled Time activation I was able to force the LED to come on.

I really appreciate the help.
