    No. No reply on github, Hikvision refuses to help, so the device is bricked. Solution will be switching to another manufacture, with prober support on their products.

    Yes. I turn on the DVR after I run the tftp - And I tried to power cycle afterwards too.

    This is how it just stall. SADP detects the DVR on that IP. I set the laptop to have 192.168.1.128 on the same subnet. Laptop->non-POE (and managed) switch<-DVR I tried the direct cable method too - Same result. The DVR shows up in SADP there too. I tried with an older firmware, with both...

    You mean 192.0.0.64 and not 192.0.0.128 right? Just to ensure that it's not the device IP, but server IP we are specifying. I did on a stand-alone switch (non poe) I just tried on a router, to force an IP on the dvr.

    I had no luck with either tftp or the methode above here I have a IDS-7204HQHI where we lost the password. All other recovery methods have failed, even that we have the security questions?! Hikvision support refuse to help with a reset, and are referring to the reseller - A reseller that does...
