    It was like that in the telecommunications dept. at CSX RR. One year early 90's we had to scramble just to spend some money to do the budget thing. I bought/ordered a Bit Error Rate Tester that was about the size of a suitcase. :idk:

    The only good thing is it's easier to find an ANPR cam for sale as long as you don't care if it NDAA compliant. Lots of them for sale from time to time on ebay. I've got an older one that came new in the box. with the original Dahua paperwork even though it was rebranded twice. 2020 firmware...

    I've also seen some cameras take their on sweet time to come alive and initiate. I always give them time. Wire test can be fine. Crazy how some seem to take longer than others to show up.

    I installed a Lorex camera in a freezer. It didn't work. a few days later after removing it....as soon as it didn't work it still was DOA. According to the specs it should have worked. DOA ever sense. Could have been bad from the start but wasn't my equipment. Never tested on the NVR before...

    Camera quit working in the cold

    I've used their model NF-8601S and actually have two of them. A quality tester can make troubleshooting a breeze compared to some of the simpler wire map only types.

    This forum needs a dedicated sub-forum for Ubiquiti's UniFi Ecosystem

    I really like Ubiquiti's point to multi point for large land areas with power at numerous barn and shack locations too far for conventional direct burial as long as line of sight is good. Regardless of the camera brands.
