I think most people are conditioned to think this way due to home video, cameras and phones. Of course, it doesn't help that the typical knowledge of security camera brands and technology comes at us at every big box store.

FYI for users of the Mac version from Andy's site like me - 1. and 2. don't doesn't apply but 3. does.
Go to System > Basic Config > Show IVS Rule checkbox (near the bottom of the page)
edit: Above and 2. does. Right click > Smart OSD
I get that. I put out cameras to monitor rodent activity and have found unexpected enjoyment seeing my various four legged neighbors doing their thing in the dark.
So, wait - that cat, that isn't yours, has you trained to respond to it's calls for feeding at 5am? And then it probably goes home for it's owner's feeding for it? So many quips to be made here, that I will abstain. Too easy.;):lol:
